ooooof 3x3 Eyes is such an underrated series. I wish it got more love :( One of my favorite dark fantasy!

I finally found out where this melody was sampled from. "Garden of Peace" by American Jazz muscian Lonnie Liston Smith. 1979. 3x3 Eyes was release in 1991. "Sorrowful Destiny" by Kaorou Wada. Such a beautiful melody. And then it was sampled again by American r&b group Total and R&B Queen Mary J. Blidge "Take Me as I am."

10:30 - 12:30 man, the memories.. i used to play it on loop on winamp back then. Even though i knew nothing about the anime/manga but i think it is the most beautiful song i had ever heard and they even have a longer version of the song!! Thank you very much for uploading it

I doubt that Horner even knew about this anime or composer, probably they gave him a sample of Pai Longing and he used it.

When you have this simple lines of music repetition are frequent. It's not copying it's just similar , Wada Kaoru copied himself in Inuyasha OST and horner in devil's own . I say it again , with simple melodies it's usual to have similarities

@@syfyserpent6465 I'd say first one is some type of introduction, probably fragment from "Pai's Longing" merged with "Mercilles Love", which starts at 0:48. Pai's longing is also calm, slower track, but it doesn't include this big flute part, something Mercilles Love does.
