Nice Channel Kitty's...using the dirty ol' Trout head's as bait. I just use smelly ol' stink bait....or if they are around...some dirty old crawfish. Since it's crawfish season here in Texas...I have saved some of the smaller ones in a zip lock bag in my freezer, for after the " Stay in Place" order has been lifted! I wish we could fish... it's been perfect weather to catch some Blue kitty's...over cast, little rainy...and cooler weather.

Size f4 flatfish in either black or white is my favorite trolling lure for trout. In a river I like an orange spinner with a gold blade. Or a 3” or 4” Gulp minnow. Live bait I like minnows or night crawlers.

That was awsome! I have never caught a channel 17 pounds. Biggest Catfish was 16 pound flat head with an ultralight. I didnt think he would ever come up. Almost got scared when he got close. Then I seen him, and shoved my hand in his mouth fast as I could. Caught big fish on droplines. But that don't count you just go out at dawn and pull them in.

TIP: keep your drag normal, open your bill, then take a bobber and hook it to the line just passed the tip of the pole then set it on the ground or on your reel. It gives to a good easy indicator and then you don’t have to adjust the drag while fighting a fish.

You should use snap swivels with inline spinners. Your line will twist and make it that much easier for a decent trout to pop your line and take your 8 dollar panther martin

When I lived in southern California there was this one lake that stocked a day before they would open up the lake to the public and we for once we got to witness them stock the trout like you showed. The real cool part was when you would watch the kitties and largemouth that were double digit fish go and eat one or two before they would go deep. The guy that worked the boat rental told us to watch the show and we were confused until we saw the shadows moving in for the feeding, we asked if this was every time deal and he said they drugged the trout so they wouldn't go into shock on the way to the lake. It was bad ass!! Nice kitties by the by!!

The Panther Martin is the best spinner for trout because it spins on the fall.It works I prefer the #2 gold for trout.I've also had good luck with Bass and Bluegills.The gold blade has also worked better than the silver.
