I know kool-aid works, BUT I would recommend trying cherry jello powder instead. Remember, you have to add sugar to kool-aid, whereas jello already has the sweetness. I have found that especially channel cats love sweetness. Secondly, I use cherry or strawberry jello because the red color sticks out really well in greenish water. Remember, green and red are exact opposites on the color spectrum. That's why surgeons wear green scrubs when they perform surgeries. The constant red of blood puts strain on the eyes. The green scrubs are worn to counter the strain of constantly looking at red. That's why I use red colored jello, the fish can see it really well in green water... 😉👍

Sometimes you have to burp big cats like. I carry like a 1/2" rubber hose about 15" long. When that happens I gently slide the hose down its throat and inside its wind pipe and release the air revive them a little and they swim away. Wow that sounds bad but it works.

I have done it with the cheap hotdogs. Strawberry cool aid, about 4-5 drops of vanilla extract, little cayenne pepper. Cut up the hotdogs in an inch length. Put all of that in a zip log bag and let it sit for a day. You will catch one.

We have a pond in Iowa that the best way to catch the kitties is to watch them feeding during the day on grassy undercut banks where they trap ‘Gills, frogs and crayfish and then basically cast into boils on the bank and it’s game on. Hardly ever catch any casting out and just letting the bait sit. No giants but up to six pounds and everyone we’ve ever caught has been within 6’ of the shore in the middle of the day.

Little google search. When a catfish comes up to the surface quickly from deep water the air bladder expands or blows up. When they come up slowly there's much less chance of having this issue.

KZbin fishing is such a hilarious avenue of polar-opposites. One side, “bass, bass, bass, bass. Bass fishing is the athletic mans fishing.” Other KZbinr “these damn bass trick us, make me think it’s a 25 pound channel and it’s just an ugly ass one pound bass.” This shits way more entertaining than something you’ll find on the outdoor channel or FS1. 😂😂

I love all types of fishing like you but I like your channel because you do a little bit of everything catfishing is my favorite we fish the lower James River usually twice a year and we catch some monsters down there but it took a few years to figure out where they were at and how to position the boat and all that good stuff because the river has a tide from the ocean that affects it and how and where you fish at different times and depths but if you ever get a chance to fish it don't turn it down it's just better to have a boat never seen a kayak or a Jon boat out there need at least a bass boat but if it's windy it gets very dangerous out there in any type of boat and if you don't know the area it's so wide it looks deep you'll tear your boat up or get injured if you don't have a good GPS map of the River it tells you the the depth and the safe places to drive ur boat but we have caught almost every trip several blue cats between 40 and 46 lbs I also, 51 pounder and the biggest a 71pounder and if you want to catch fish between the one pound to 20 lb size it's like taking candy from a babyyour arms will get tired and a half a day of reeling them in so we target the bigger fish with huge baits
