In this video I try to find free sewing patterns on Pinterest. I hunt for both a modern pattern and a vintage pattern.

You went down the rabbit hole! I have found free patterns on pinterist but it does take time and patience as you found out. I follow a few sewing vloggers that will post the free patterns they have found. Very helpful!

I've printed off mask patterns, and patterns for small stuffed animals. Things that actually fit on a page. The scanned images of line drawing patterns from Russia absolutely abound on pintrest. I feel like even if I could read Russian, or the google translate could do an adequate job translating sewing terminology, I would still need to have spent the last 25 years sewing with Mom and Grandma to understand what one is supposed to be doing with the drawings. They're so tempting though. These tiny little nuggets of information that feel nearly comprehensible.

Yeah you have to be at least at 303 sewist at least, to be able to pull one of those plain design patterns off the internet and make it into a wearable item. I've done it before but it does take a lot of work! The experience you gain from mishing and mashing all of it together is priceless though! Cheers

I made that bullet bra and it was not hard as hard as it looks .the sew along was helpful too. I did have to grade it to fit me but yey its free.😉

You missed Vera Venus! This site has several printable, free vintage inspired patterns. I say inspired because they were designed by the site owner in recent years, but they are 100% accurate to the time period she designed for. Because these are a labor of love, most are single size - but anyone used to working with vintage paper has probably learned how to resize patterns. If you are interested, I suggest you download anything you like ... Jeanne has not updated the site in a few years, and though I hope she does, I fear the site may disappear.

I like some vintage, because what was once old is new. Styles abmnd trends repeat (to some extent). I would like a vintage dress pattern with a good design structure and make some modern updates such as fabric and notions.

I have been searching KZbin for free patterns, and now have a list of 28 companies that actually offer them in PDF. I checked them, and they are ok. None of them are vintage, however.

I've made that bullet bra and it's fantastic! The spiral stitching is easy once you get into a rhythm, and if you wear vintage fashion (50s/60s) it makes the clothes fit and look way better
