FYI as of August 2023 the front control arm brackets have changed such that an exhaust loop delete kit is required for the driver's side front lower control arm to have clearance to travel. Also, the bracket is a bit difficult to install on the passenger side. On one hand, you don't have to weld the crush sleeve, but you *might* have to drop the fuel tank to bolt the control arm bracket to the transmission crossmember. I didn't have to drop fuel tank, and ended up being able to crowfoot the bolt from the front and tightened with a swivel from the back on the outer crossmember bolt. All that said your video is what helped me to decide on the same lift. I have 2015 2-door Black 6MT and have the same suspension as you (except 3.5", fox shocks, and no Db3 s in back because I run 35s). If I knew how to make a good video I would share the differences. At any rate thank you so much again Jason

Great video, glad I found it. I find long arms interesting but i'll be fully honest, my 2 door is just a daily in a sense. I pull it behind my RV and do beaches, fire roads, dirt trails, etc. I do not have hard core wheeling. What I am thinking is sort of getting the same result. I have geometry brackets with a 2.5" lift which ends up being 2 3/4". I want to get it above 3" so i'll keep the brackets (remember the type of wheeling I do) and just use Metalcloak's adjustable arms up front. May be overkill but gives me a lot more to dial in the pinion angle plus a heavier duty arm with a much better joints. Why I am also looking at the rear kit as well that you used. Again, probably overkill for my use but I look at it this way. I have no reason to ever get rid of the Jeep. It's not my primary vehicle and you never know what you may intend to do with it. I need it to be both urban and off-road capable but I also like to overbuild a bit as well. I plan to do more which some think is nuts for my use but I like to overbuild so 20, 30 years from now I am still driving it. Just curious have you looked at the front shock relocation brackets? Interesting idea. Lastly, how is the DB3 kit doing 3 years later?
@AutoEdits2 ай бұрын
Over-building for peace of mind is a good thing. The DB3 brackets are really amazing and I'm still very happy with them. I might try their long arm kit just because I like the looks of them but the anti-squat and highway manners of the DB3 brackets are better. Keep in mind the DB3 is mostly designed for lifts of 3" or more.
@jeffdurling1002 ай бұрын
@@AutoEdits that should be perfect. I want to get my lift right at 3.5” if I can. For me that will be about the perfect height. It will also allow me to flip my drag link and should keep a good height for both highway and off road capability and manners. I am tempted by the long arms. Have to see which way I go.
@AutoEdits2 ай бұрын
@@jeffdurling100 I agree with your build philosophy. 3.5 is perfect to achieve the "flip" and yet gain excellent clearance while still keeping the handling great.

Don’t forget about to bump stops! They may have changed a little bit. Might need to add an inch or so more.

Good call... I'll check all that when I get up to the off road park for testing!

I'm Stoked that your stoked. Although personally, not a fan of radius arms or drop brackets. Subjected to binding. How is a kit comprised of antiquated tech supposed to be Metalcloak's flagship suspension? There's a reason why all the other Premium suspension manufacturers don't produce radius arms for JKs...Rock Krawler, EVO, Icon, Teraflex. Now look at the ones that do...Rough Country, Rusty's. Just saying.

I don't agree with this at all but totally appreciate your opinion. This offers amazing performance for the relative ease of installation. What bind are you even talking about???? With the lock n load unlocked it offers an amazing amount of flex. Is there better, absolutely... at this easy level of install in my garage... no way!

@@AutoEdits I wouldn't even say better honestly. If perhaps your looking at max an inch more of travel on a 4 link vs this, I'd say ok but as a whole metalcloak with their shocks and coil combo then I'd say Metalcloak is simply better in almost every way. Now fyi this isn't their flagship by any means so if we are to compare 4 link long arm MC with 6pac shocks to 4 link long arm from any other manufacturer with let's say falcon shocks(or fox) I'd still say that no one compares. The only people I think that can gets close is Teraflex but imo it's all about ride. MC offers best flex, best ride, easiest install, and comparable pricing. All in all MC all the way in terms of final destination lifts. And that's not to say you can't get by with other cheaper lifts or anything like that and I am sure you can get close for cheaper but MC has a good thing that is simply *the best*

I have the rough country long arm kit 4 inch lift and it's garbage. I cut all the lower control arm pockets already so installing this kit should be easier...🥵....
