Sir in last example you have created R2 (A, I) for A --> I, even you could have added I in R1 but you said there will be partial dependency that's why you made separate table R2. But in R3 you didn't make separate table for the dependency H --> J and you added J in R3 . Sir please elaborate it ,
@shivis15312 жыл бұрын
Because h is not pat of candidate key so it won't partial dependency and in A-> I A is part is candidate key so it will show partial dependency if wee keep it in R1 nd 2NF wi terminate

what if entire candidate key is creating partial dependency ? Ex : - AB --> CDE, B ---> DE. here c.k will be AB therefore, prime attributes are : AB and non prime attributes are : CDE so AB and B will create partial dependency. what will be the relations after decomposition to 2NF ?

I have a Question What will be the resulting division for this relation: R(ABCD) FD: AB->C, A->D, In this case AB will be Candidate key: R1: (ABC), R2(AD) so my question is Do I need to create a separate table for Candidate key? like R3: AB
@mayurigarg35276 жыл бұрын
No we don't becoz when we make a separate table for candidate key we first check that our whole candidate key is dependent on someone or not if yes then we also take that i.e in that case we take c along AB n if not we just write only our candidate key I hope ur doubt will clear

Sir, in 3rd question R2 is (A I) AND R3 (ADGHJ) THEN WE CAN INCLUDE i in r3 like this r3 (A,D,G,H,I,J) because there is a dependency from A to I. plz replay
@anantraj12754 жыл бұрын
that'll be the case of partial dependency again if we include i in R3..then A will be subset of candidate key AD and it'll point to i..Hope this helps
@Korosensei-vj9xb Жыл бұрын
can we make r3 as adgh and r5 as abdhj in the last question?
@omkardeshpande74826 жыл бұрын
Sir, I didn't get the concept of Identifying of NF. How can we say that the questions in the above video ARE in 2NF? Infact the questions are reduced to 1NF, hence must be in 1NF initially, which we are reducing in 2NF. ..
