Thank you for this video. I am having a triple bypass this week and have been trying to figure out how I can perform this action without putting strain on my sternum. This was very helpful information. One note, though about the Scrubbing Bubbles Wand: I know it should be common sense, but I was surprised not to hear you say or see a note pop up on the screen to not used the wipes that come with the wand. I would imagine that using those would really do a number on your delicate parts. As I said, should be common sense, but I'm thinking of warnings like "Do not use iron on clothes you are wearing!"

What an ingenious girl you are. I have kitchen tongs I never used! And the Scrubbing Bubble’s Wand looks interesting. I live in Ireland not sure if I can get it here. But thank you all the same. I am recovering from a stroke so every little helps (as Tesco would say) x

This is great. I have MS and I just had a bad episode that left my left arm with limited movement and half of my right hand numb. My walking and standing is not very strong. Right now I am depending on my husband to help me out but after a month of the gross work he is getting a little tired of it all. He doesn't know how to cook so we are eating out of boxes I am not very clean and I feel run down and helpless. I am ready to start cooking and taking care of myself and family again. My labs were horrible at my appointment yesterday so I know it is time. I don't even want to know what this kind of eating is doing to my teenage son. Thank you for showing affordable alternatives to help get our lives back on track. I look forward to watching more of your videos.

Hemostat. I tried a few different adaptive devices, & kitchen tongs, & then it dawned on me to use a hemostat. I like it best because it is narrow so it's easy to fit between legs (& also wouldn't be bulky/clunky to use reaching from your back), I can quickly & easily wash it after each use, & it also takes up little room in a bag for trips out of the house or even travelling (I have a cloth bag I keep it in & can also wash that).

Thank you for your video. I usually use wipes. Do you have any suggestions? Wipes are very dangerous to the environment and I always throw them in a unique bag for non-recyclable objects. Thanks.

Yeah. Soapy wash cloth like we used on poopy baby bottoms in the the 1950s before all the disposable stuff came along. RINSE in a bowl of soap water you dispose of in toilet and launder soiled wash cloth

On the 2nd device, rather than continually use extra tissue so the tissue is gripped, glue a thin piece of sponge in the gripper/s!

I’m sorry to say buy you didn’t put the toilet paper on any one of those wands or even the tongs correctly. If we were to actually try to wipe loading the wands and tongs as you did it would lead to a mess and an uncomfortable way of holding the tools. Wrapping the tp and tucking is so much better for them all.

Or... you could drop all those awkward hacks and just use a bidet? It just feels like bidets are illegal in the United States and I don't know why.
@PostStrokeOrg2 жыл бұрын
My last recommendation in the video is a bidet! haha I agree, I don't know why using bidets isn't a commonly accepted practice in the U.S. I have one and think they're great!

lol. I recommend bidet's now all the time - especially for my spinal cord injuries. It's super helpful.

Not illegal, but with IBS diarrhea with a mucous colitis- water alone won’t cut it, until after wiping.

Looking for options for my dad. We have never used a bidet. Are you wet in that area after using? If he can't reach back to wipe is he going to need to reach back to dry with a towel?
@telengardforever77835 ай бұрын
@@KayNor13 I highly suggest just using a bidet. Yes, if he doesn't use a rag or TP to dry off, obviously he will be a little wet. But generally, underwear or boxers will soak it up and dry off within 5 mins of using the bathroom. How do I know? I do not dry off after using a bidet and NEVER had a problem drying off.
