I'm surprised gulls didn't make the list they really are found everywhere and are so dominant that they can seriously affect the number of other animals in their ecosystem, even raptors like falcons and smaller hawks can be cautious around them, they eat just about anything are surprisingly strong, and are way smarter than most people give them credit for.

Gulls really widespread in cold and temperate region. But oddly almost absent around indo Pacific region and Caribbean islands. Perhaps the presence of frigate bird that really preventing them to stay in those region

I’m surprised you didn’t include the family Corvidae: crows, ravens, jays and magpies. Their intelligence and diversity make them the most impressive family of birds, in my humble opinion.

I'm very glad to hear that pelicans are so high on this list. Just about 30-40 years ago, Brown Pelicans off the California coast were facing extinction, but have made a dramatic recovery since then.
