I am sadly getting ready tooo move from California and after doing some research I am surprised Oregon isn’t rich like California in gold deposits! Kind of blew my mind !
@510prospecting2 жыл бұрын
@@maxgelein2614 southern or north east Oregon have the best deposits. Similar to California, but not quite the same. You can still find some hot spots though.

Awesome video bro! Yeah those were dream mar sluices are very handy, their one downside is if it gets too clogged up with blacksand you can risk losing the very small gold, so good call cleaning it out when it got full. Nice consistent gold! Keep up the great work!
@510prospecting2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we were excited to test it out. The recovery rate is fantastic, but yeah they plug if ran too quick. Super easy to clean up, so not much of an issue. We enjoyed it! Next time we’ll run the a52s. Just too much water at the moment. Thanks for watching! Really appreciate it.

Nice…I’m about to head up tmrw to do Some digging again:) I’m here in Oregon as well. Molalla is closest to me so that’s where I usually go:) just went to Brice creek about a month ago and was ON it but unfortunately it’s too far away. Prospecting during winter tho is pretty hard core lol if I didn’t love it as much I would wait but just can’t keep myself from it lol
@510prospecting2 жыл бұрын
Hello fellow Oregonian. I’ve heard of gold on the Molalla. I believe there is an NWMPC claim up that way. We’ll have to make a trip out there sometime. How’s the gold up that way? Brice and sharps is the closest to us, but still an hour drive. Thanks for watching!
@AstralWorks_unspoken4112 жыл бұрын
@@510prospecting the gold is actually pretty nice at Molalla if you can find a decent spot that hasn’t been worked to death lol actually found my first picker here :) all flood gold of course but it adds up:) a large part of the river was closed off due to fires for like a year or more so it’s a great time to explore! yea ugh Brice creek is like 3 1/2 hours from me, so only on special occasions can I hit that up when I go camping ect. Whereas like you, Molalla is like 1hr away from me which isn’t bad at all. Your right about claims here but they are not peppered everywhere which is nice. Gonna try to make a vid today and focus more on the beauty of this place and if I get lucky include that of course haha:D If your ever up this way look for a black jeep with roof rack and feel free to say ello:p happy hunting!
@deanteasdale62522 жыл бұрын
Like you I'm several hours away from decent gold, live in Willamina. I've scouted the Molalla once but like you mentioned it was closed up high. Will be back there this summer and I'll say hi if I see your rig.

I'd like to get started with my kiddo going out and prospecting. are you a member of a prospecting club? How does one get started looking for places to prospect?
@510prospecting2 жыл бұрын
Yes, we’re members of 3 different clubs. Search for public panning areas local to you. Look for local prospecting clubs, or the GPAA has claims all over the country. BLM has an online map service called mlrs which can show you where mineral deposits and claims are. Stay away from registered claims. But this will give you an idea of the approximate areas where to start looking.

Very hard to shovel gold out from underneath the water. Of course you know to stay on bedrock if there’s any around. I’ve got 50 years of experience stay on bed rock wash it off with the buckets and scratch the cracks no matter what level the creek Tweezers the sniffer bulb
@510prospecting2 жыл бұрын
We totally agree with you! Unfortunately no bedrock to be found at this location. The water was just too high this time of year. Mid summer, bedrock everywhere! We’ll be back when the water drops for sure. Thanks for taking the time to comment and watch our videos. Appreciate the support!

That’s the whole point the little tiny pieces the bedrock wash them off with the bucket why the water is high VG 5 gallon bucket tweezers sniffer and a screwdriver to scratch with. It’s called the bucket trick Do it like you fishing
