FYI ... the very last song on the third album ... "ALONE" was the first published song written by our MAIDs. Most of JBI (Just Bring It) was written by them.

This is going to be impossible around 50 songs, much less when you hit 100... like I'm literally betting that the process just breaks down at some point. I WANT you to make it all the way... but there's no way man. No way. I wish you good luck, K!

One of my favorite older songs by them. Love the beat, melody, chorus but especially the back and forth vocals between Saiki and Miku!

Love the dual vocals here. "Alone" is their first self-written song, from the "Brand New Maid" release. 23 songs in the future (don't forget the "Ai to Jonetsu no Matodoru" single!). 1. Bye My Tears 2. Key 3. Be OK 4. Evergreen

Band-Maid's older, somewhat overlooked songs are going to be rediscovered for years to come. This will bring a continuous flow of new fans into their fold. Some of these tunes are heavy, hard punk rock adding a new depth of artistry to the Maids many fans didn't know they had. Of course, for Maidiacs, they always knew about these bitchin tunes long ago and still listen to them all the time. Thx, Ross!

It's been almost 2 years since I started to pleasantly fall down this pigeon-hole. I've seen many criticisms of this album, but I've been giving it a heavy listen the last couple weeks and IMO it's a great listen. The problem is, it's like "The Black Album" compared to the rest of their discography full of "Master of Puppets". 🤘

@PANIC_aka_PinD perhaps they are talking from the point of view of some dads being larger than others or perhaps they are trying to be polite and avoiding the term fat dad or couch Potato dad. Hippopotamus dad would be quite hurtful 😔 😢.

Even though they weren't writing their own stuff here, this is just so good. It's an underrated album. They didn't write it, but they sure made it their own. Hell, let's just say it. They made it their bitch! LOL! Even in the early days, you could see how great they were. Their first song that they wrote and arranged by themselves is Alone from Brand New Maid - 2016. I love this song!! I think "Forward" is my favorite off this first album, but Bye My Tears is a close 2nd and Be Okay gets the Bronze.

Netflix movie "Kate" featured Band Maid playing themselves in a club scene. They played Choose Me on stage And Blooming was used in the film as well. It's not a bad movie - action - and it's got Band Maid. this movie is how our favorite cellist Alexej Bagrintsev found them. If you are not familiar, he is a professional cellist who has done many Band Maid covers with his cello. He is AMAZING! He has a KZbin channel, please check him out.

The Netflix reference may be from the action thriller "Kate" filmed in Tokyo. Band-Maid had two songs featured in a scene from the film that took place in a night club. They were playing on stage. The two songs played in the film were "Choose Me" and "Blooming". They were two of their early written and recorded songs.
Band Maid were in a club scene in the Netflix film 'Kate' playing Choose Me and Blooming was playing over the radio in a car chase scene.

Well, BAND MAIKO is the only band who can compete with BAND MAID ;) . BAND MAID was featured with some fairly long cameos on the Netflix film KATE. They played CHOOSE ME in a club and a monster car tried to do away with KATE when she tried to turn the radio off when it was playing BLOOMING ... at least that is the way I remember it ;) .

That's exactly what I told you last time. And I figured it would be number two rather than three. It's only going to get harder. Much harder. Honestly, you must be clinically insane to try and rank 130 Band Maid songs. But I do wish you the best of luck. I can't wait to see how long your reactions are going to be by the time you hit the middle of the second album

Great list so far ! I don't struggle with a top ten. I just go with the songs that I most often revisit. Topping that list is Youth ! It just (as Kanami intended it to feel like a 'day at the beach') makes me feel SO good ! 😁

I'm going to be screwed when we get to New Beginning. Was nearly having to add another cigarette paper but this gets top spot for the atmospherics (a very different approach than a lot of their stuff, even now): 1. Bye My Tears 2a. Be OK 2b. Key 3. EverGreen They don't write their own stuff until the 3rd album, but it's hard to imaguine that they didn't add their own flare to even these first few tracks (think Kanami's solo in this - that's got to be entirely her doing, hasn't it?)
@alanscarfe67536 ай бұрын
Hah!!! Only four songs in Ross, and it isn`t going to get any easier. By the way `Kate¬ is a netflix action movie starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead with a scene in a night club in Tokyo, guess who the band is !!!

This is a tough one for me... The start of the verses are my least favorite, the staccato drum beat bit especially, but it's got maybe my favorite chorus so far? (I know everyone says they hate the anime reference, but dear crap this feels like an anime song to me as soon as the chorus kicks in). So, for me, I'm going to say that verse bit pushes it below Evergreen. 1. Key 2. Be OK 3. Evergreen 4. Bye My Tears

At some point you're just going to end up with something like 50 songs tied for first, 30 for second, another 30 for third and then you just might be able to rank the remainder down to the top 10. You have set yourself an impossible task here.😂

Bruce Wayne and Batman are not "rivals". Clark Kent and Superman are not "rivals". Band-Maid and Band-Maiko aren't either. They're superheros! ;)

Their early work is just as relevant today as their current work is. This is the proof of just how good these girls are. From their very first song they have been tighter than a Funeral Drum and loving every moment they share. K-Ross...it's not a competition......relax......take a few cranks out of your backside and just enjoy all the songs as equal.
