Red Rose Miku, Sept. 14, 2017, interview: At the Band forming nobody in our band had done "Hard Rock" so we had started without knowing anything - we have grown greatly musically as a Band.

Misa, Bass Player: I played piano till 6th grade, then started playing guitar from 1st year junior high, and I was a vocal/guitar when I was 1st year high school. At 2nd year high school, a senior student asked me to join their band as a bassist. I was interested in playing bass, so I decided to join the band as a bassist.

This is one of the songs that caught my attention... a few years ago, love it! Looks like you have not reacted to Clang yet ... I think you will like it (well, like all Band-Maid songs). Thanks for the reaction.

I know you and your viewers will continue to enjoy all the Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and 2018 ZEPP concert performances - about 50 songs! They hold some of the best songs and recordings of Band-Maid. (Found on YT, bili website, bandmaidprime, early reactor vids, and on CD's/DVD's). 2016-2018 was during Band-Maid's less progressive / more classic hard rock period and it's well worth experiencing -- like Turn Me On was! Thx, John!

I glad I'm not the only one who hears the late 60's / early 70's familiarity in their music. I feel it but usually can't quite relate it to anything specifically. Thanks for the great breakdown.

Great catch, John, on Miku. I have one: A couple of inadvertent things happens when Miku stops playing to sing leads or backup vocals. I say inadvertent because it originally happened in the early days of Band-Maid (like Thrill) when she was not capable of doing both at the same time: 1) It leaves space for her (and Saiki's) vocals, and 2), it brings a dynamic to the music that wouldn't be there if she played across her singing parts. Of course now as she's gotten pretty damn great, she plays many times while singing. But this unintentional rhythm guitar drop-out adds a dynamic, especially when she comes back in, that she still employs and is now part of Band-Maid's signature "live" sound. Since Kanami still plays her guitar parts when recording, you don't hear it as much as with their live performances. I actually prefer the dropped guitar because it reduces the wall of sound that can occur when 2-4 "full-on Kanami" guitar parts are in play on their albums.

I was one off the rail at their show in Minneapolis, right between MISA and Miku. Miku had that Zemaitis chuggin' hard all night long. She's a top tier rockstar in my book. MISA, well she is just on another level.

Also, great point on the Pigeon. If you focus in the left instead of the right, for this concert especially, it really shows what Miku is contributing with that Zemaitis

FYI - the song right after this is the original live version of "Don't You Tell Me" which was the forerunner to the lastest version from Yokohama Arena ('23). The two are very similar but there are a couple slight differences. The '18 version was an epic masterpiece, the '23 version made it legendary. 🤘 Rock Candy 🤘

What you were talking about is the main reason why I love BAND-MAID! The music is familiar and yet amazingly different. The way they can sound familiar and different at the same time, the way they are fearless to try different styles of play and mix match sub-genres. I hate making this comparison more than you know, the creativity, reminds me of The Beatles. I love The Beatles and almost feal the comparison is sacrilege but I can't listen to BAND-MAID and not think it.

This song really packages so much of what makes each member of the band indispensable. Miku's genius in knowing they needed Saiki really pays off here: Few songs show off their complementarity better than this--Saiki's power and edge, and Miku's sweet, adorable tone in counterpoint, is just perfect. And of course the song just bangs.

MIKU is often underrated because the other members are monster class, but they add a little spicy flavor with their guitars and sweet cream on top with their vocal harmonies. When I started the band, I had never even touched a guitar, and now I have grown a lot as a rhythm guitarist. All members of BAND-MAID are very hard workers and are constantly evolving. Now it is hard to imagine the BAND-MAID sound without MIKU. On stage, he becomes a clown and makes the audience laugh. As a fan, I hope that BAND-MAID will grow bigger and better.
@kan53727 ай бұрын
I completely agree. To be honest, in the beginning of BAND-MAID, I thought that MIKU-chan was not necessary because she did not contribute much to the performance. However, seeing how all the members of BAND-MAID are the main characters and how MIKU-chan has grown in response to that, I have come to like them more and more. I will continue to support the still unfinished BAND-MAID.🤘

Band Maid will deliver a riff that normal bands would’ve just stuck some chords around, have the lead guitarist stick a flashy solo on top of and call it a day. I’m still searching for a way to describe the changes, transitions, and unexpected things they stuff into each song. That “journey” you highlighted 🤷🏻

Prefer Kanami's solos from the period- Less speed more quality. That first section with Kanami was so Black Sabbath. Did Kanami's solo somehow dropped in to a Minor scale near the end? Miku has the best teacher, who knows what she wants from an accompanying guitarist.
