A wildflower sprouted up near my driveway. I was watering it every morning through the summer until one day when I was out driving and saw an empty lot full of this same flower in bloom.

Nice little set up. For sunflowers rate usually 10 pounds per acre. Black oil grows 4 feet tall, grey stripe 10 feet tall. Invest in a hand spreader does the job better . Wildflowers 15 pounds per acre. You will see better results following seed rate

Crummy pliers are the best because they are easier to find! Loved your rationalization here for not going to find better ones! LOL It is so good to see others just going about the business of regular life and planting flowers for the aesthetic needs of the future! Thank you for sharing! :)) #sharethepositive

Great video! About 5 years ago I planted about an acre of wildflowers near my bee hives. First I brush hogged the field, then I tilled it, then I hired a real farmer to plant it. The wild non-native grasses mostly came back and almost re-took over the field, but some of the perennial wildflowers took hold, and seem to be doing ok, but it is a struggle. I have noticed sunflower plants coming up under my feeder too, but never thought about actually planting some. Great idea. I can't wait to see how your wildflower project comes along this summer. Cheers!

You should look into growing Mexican Sunflowers just be careful if you live in the tropics or the equator because it will be a nightmare. If you do sow mexican sunflower grow the yellow, orange, and red mexican sunflower.

Great video. Have you tried an Earthway bag spreader? I saw where it helps to add some sand to the wildflower seeds to get an even spread of seeds.
@MyClutteredGarage3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I haven’t tried that spreader but I’ve heard of the sand trick. I’ll check it out! It also helps prevent wasting seed.

Thank you, Terry. I don't think I did a video specifically on the outcome of the sunflowers, but you can see shots of the wild flowers in several videos, like #21 and #32. I planted some more sunflowers for 2021, so I'll see about doing and update later this summer. Thanks for watching and for subscribing. -Ed
