The sweet spot is just the $5K in the savings account at 2.9%. Not a lot of lost opportunity cost. 2.5% catch-all. My remaining question is if there is any annual fee and does it have FTF. Another option is some people mention the Alliant Visa, you need $1K, electronic statements, and a regular direct deposit. 2.5% with a $10K monthly statement limit. The new US Bank Smartly card is not a super home run no brainer, but let's celebrate having more options!

@luislast61132 ай бұрын
I don't think you get 4% interest. You get 4% cash back. Big difference. Edit: My error. You do get 4% interest on savings. If you have $100k. That you can leave in the bank indefinitely. But you can get at least .5% more elsewhere. That would be $500 annually (on a deposit of $100k). So you would have to charge $12.5k per year to make up the difference in what you would get in interest elsewhere and what you would get in cash back from U.S. Bank. And since most cards will give you 1% cash back, it's actually even more.

Hi Ben, is this for real? What’s the incentive to use this card over others? A 4% cash back sounds appealing, but it requires parking $100k in US Bank at just 0.01% APY. Seems like a lot of money tied up for minimal returns. It feels like US Bank is primarily focused on benefiting themselves rather than providing genuine value to consumers. How does this card actually serve its users? I’d appreciate some clarity on this! Thanks!
