If you have an OBDII vehicle (1996 or later), and you have bad catalytic converters or don't have any, and you have a "check engine light" because of it, adding 2 spark plug anti foulers onto the down stream oxygen sensor could eliminate the "check engine light" code, and potentially save you hundreds of because you didn't have to buy expensive catalytic converters. You’re awesome brother! thanks a bunch for the info. It worked on my 2006 Nissan Xterra, I had the P420 code and check engine light on, failed emissions obviously. After seen yours and someone else’s video, I tried this and it worked 100% My check engine light went away after about driving for 40 miles, and never came back on. This was installed on the oxygen sensor in bank 2 btw. I waited 48hrs. and took it to emissions test, it passed with flying colors. Awesome mod, it literally saved me tons of money. Thanks again.

I've done this to mod to my last 3 Jeep's after going to high flow cats, relocated O2's and bigger piping and it does work. In my applications, 5.2 and 5.9, I only used 1 antifouler but I've heard some vehicles need both the drilled out one and a stock one and sometimes steel wool sandwiched between the end of the O2 and the small hole in the second anti fouler.

Wow dude this really worked for me - THANK YOU! At first it didn't work because i used both foulers together. I got the P2A03 code - O2 Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Bank 2 Sensor 1 But then i used only one fouler and it worked like a charm. (1,000 miles with no check engine so far) I didn't have to do any drilling - it was all plug and play for me...They come in a couple of different sizes - got it at O'reilly/Checker store. 06 ALTIMA 3.5 V6 - my pre-cat on bank 2 fell apart completely which is why i had to do this (destroyed the original engine, had to swap)

@@Dude13450 it disintegrated, clogged the exhaust completely and created too much backpressure. While cranking the engine and trying to diagnose why it keeps choking i guess it sucked in a few broken pieces of the cat and destroyed cylinders 4 and 6. Compression on these cylinders was only 60 and 90 psi. Surprisingly the engine still ran strong after clearing the exhaust but it burned an insane amount of oil. Big blue smoke behind me for a mile. I never took the old engine apart to see what broke inside, possibly piston rings? No idea...

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WITH SOME GM'S, SUCH AS CADILLAC, IS THE O2 SENSOR BUNG, WHERE IT THREADS IN TO, POINTS AND THE TRANSMISSION. THIS TRICK DOES WORK, HOWEVER, WITH CADILLAC, YOU MIGHT HAVE TO CLOSE UP THE OLD BUNG AND RE-DRILL, AND WELD A NEW BUNG FOR THE 02 TO THREAD IN TO. GREAT TRICK AND FOR ME, IT WORKS FANTASTIC.

It worked on my 2000 Celica. I have the typical oil-burning condition of the early 1zzfe engine which seems to have resulted in a "Inefficient Catalytic Converter" CEL (probably oil-fowled/coated). So I gave this a try on the after-cat O2 about a year ago and haven't had any problems since. Next step is probably going to be trying to remove the cat and replacing it with a pipe and see if this can still fool the OBDii when I get around to it.

Once your car is "ready" for a smog check, you need to remove the spacer and then you have a few miles before the check light comes back on, so if you go to the smog check immediately after remove it, it will pass before the CEL comes back on. Otherwise they will fail you for modification/tampering

Worked on 2008 Nissan frontier 4 cylinder. Dorman part # 42002. Only drilled deep enough for sensor to clear, not all the way through as SOME recommend. Worked with after market sensor, $17.85 from prime choice (EBay). Replaced sensor first but that didn't fix it, then added the non fouler which did. Thanks a lot, Poor Man Mods!

You should always start with a smaller bit and work up to the half inch. It will save your bits and be much faster

Not necessarily since there's already a hole in there originally, that method is best for drilling through solid metal. The proper procedure here is too use a *reamer bit* or a drill bit that gets wider as you drill deeper.

I just did this to my 07 Rubicon. when I did my clutch a while back I noticed the two upper cats were blown through and the pieces had collected on the lower two cats partially clogging my exhaust. so i busted out the other two and that were also coming apart and well of course my light had come on after a drive cycle. p0430 catalyst efficiency code.. ran down to the parts store it cost me $8 for two packs of those ( they come in pairs ) and about 15 minutes of getting mud and shit in my eyes to do this and it worked.. got me through deq and saved me $400... ill be honest I callled b.s too...

Flip the it over so you don't have to be concerned with threads. Also if you use a Bosch sensor it requires a 9/16th. Drill bit. Patience. And a file. For the Bosch o2 to fit and in the one you put in first I used some Harley Davidson catalytic material . plus I used a large stainless steel washer on the first one for a heat sink because the aluminum disapated heat to fast.when you put the one you have drilled out into the first one use a copper gasket not the ones supplied. They don't give a complete seal. You can also use some stainless steel wool for a restriction in the first non foul. Use the copper thread seize better conductivity. Torque is questionable because thirty foot lbs is Alot for aluminum threads. I did 23 ft lbs. So far I've had to reset relearn my computer twice. I own a 2016 scion tC. Very picky ecu. WRAPPED DNA MOTORS HEADER ,WRAPPED CNT DOWN PIPE. SRS CAT BACK EXHAUST . TWO OIL collectors one on pcv side and one on valve cover side. Home made Trd intake system. currently using sawyer tuning chip. Loud on full throttle stock sounding at Cruz speed. Rumble on load up hill.

Tried it on my 98 mustang did not work still getting the rear o2 showing up as codes. I re placed all my o2s but there the bosh ones I just ordered some mil eliminators coming soon hopefully that works seems legit.

Take some of the mesh and stuff it in the one that’s connected to the actual exhaust pipe and reinstall the other fouler and the sensor the way you had it originally. It should fix the CEL. You can rest the computer/ ecu by disconnecting the battery and then turning on your headlights this will drain the capacitors that store energy inside… you can watch a video on that as well

bosch sensor work on vacuum sensor not heat like most the more heat the more blockage and higher sensor reading bosch works on vacuum ratings sensor not heat if cats blocked using bosch then the vacuum is high levels and send signal to say it high and create check light to fool the bosch ox sensors leave tiny little hole on spacer about 3 mill diameter will work great or short out pin no 3 and 16 on computer diagnosis plug turn key on delete cod permanently and also take cats out still run perfectly

Leola Ross 420 is a catalyst inefficiency code; 440 441 and 446 are all EVAP codes. Those mean you may have a leak in your EVAP system.

If you put some fine steel mesh between the anti foulers you’re almost guaranteed a no check engine light. Why doesn’t it work with the Bosch? Is it a size issue or something else? I think you only need it for the downstream one, correct?

Correct me if I'm wrong - but wouldn't this make the O2 sensor "see" less Oxygen, and it responds by LEANING out the A/F mix until the Oxygen level "seems" correct ?? Or does this have to do with lowering the temp of the sensor ?? Just wanting to know HOW does this work . . .

The spacers go on the downstream 02 sensors which only tell your computer if your cats are working properly or not, it does not make adjustments.

Well taken out of the exhaust stream is like hanging off in clean air supposedly..if it is a O2 sensor the it fools the ECU into thinking the cat is still ok...

It is for downstream sensor only, that one doesn't control anything for most of the vehicles, just monitors the catalytic converter for emission purposes. Upstream sensor is a different story, you do not want to mess with that one. On some newer vehicles, a new type of wideband oxygen sensor is used downstream and it may also control the air/fuel mixture, however it is still uncommon.

Should you use some kind of gasket or sealant in between the two non-foulers? I've done this and got rid of my CEL, but it sounds like I have an exhaust leak now and I can smell exhaust fumes coming from around that area. It was raspy before because of my failing cat, but it's much worse now.

I have a 2002 altima 2.5. One day I was driving normally when I hit a bump and I heard a rattle and as I kept driving and pressed on the gas I could hear air being compressed out. Later on after checking everything I could, I found out the precat was destroyed and it had completely clogged my mid pipe. I clear everything out so right now my precat and cat are hollowed. Would this clear my check engine light? I've heard that I only need to use the spacers on the second sensor but does it matter if I use it on the stock precat or do I HAVE to get headers? Would I even have to worry about the main cat?

so in a v6 3.0 TDI audi a5 2007 if i want to delete the cat and turn into a straight pipe i can do that modification and i will not get any error in my cockpit screen?? The car will work normally? also with other sound ofc.

These will not work on faulty 02 sensors, they have to be functional.

My van has two sensors. I've looked at 10 videos on this and no one is saying "only the downstream sensor". Can you use this method on the upstream?

I have 03 Suburban with the 5.3L LM7 engine and had code P0161 passenger downstream behind cat o2 was saying bad bought new oem one at advance auto parts and it was idling good for half a day then check engine light came back on and has a little tiny miss you can barely notice if not paying attention for it and obviously now back to running rich as hell @ 9.5mpg . I’d like to know if this would fix the richer fuel problem by it not seeing the cat error and ecm adding fuel…??? And was thinking about doing a cat delete as well with this trick…🤔💭💭💭

It works for about 4 or 5 start ups and check engine light is back I recommend oxygen simulators from eBay those are a guarantee no check engine light

Get a deep 02 simulator so u don't need to drill. And if the cel does not go away put two. It's all about reducing the exhaust gas reading to safe levels. So it can't be too close to the gas stream

My truck had dual pipes but the guy I bought it from converted it into a single pipe and my check engine light is on for no O2 sensors. How do I fix this problem for smog? Cause I have no exhaust pipe there at all anymore.
