VERY INFORMATIVE .. I like the fact you are brutally honest with your reports. I have friends with 400.00 trail cams and they are no better than what you tested. Keep up the great videos I really like them. I no longer hunt with a firearm but I like good deer videos. Stay safe idiots abound during hunting season.

Great review! Without watching this video first I recently had ordered the same cameras and they are now currently out in the woods. Although I capture entirely in video mode, I basically used the same criteria when ordered on Amazon. I run a string of over 60 cameras and frankly I’m tired of people stealing them. I’m steering towards cameras with the no glow feature and cheap. I first camo them even further using caulk and paint. Using a small step ladder for added elevation, I like to cut out a cubbyhole in the side of a dead tree and cover the area using the same bark scattered on the ground. Of course I carve out the bark only the areas necessary for the sensors and lens. What an amazing difference. Of course they’re not really secure, but who cares, they’re cheap enough to risk it. I’m anxious to see how they work for me.

Thanks for that review. Last fall I undertook a study to update my inventory of trail cams. Half of them were first generation cams, the rest were purchased based on price, most were obsolete or junk. My main priority was user friendliness regarding set up / programming, the screen being a must. I ended up with a couple Zopus, a campark and a cabella’s, all under $100 ( with gift certificate for the cabella’s). I rate the Zopus the best. A simple thing like having the control labels in white on black vs black on black make a big difference in the field. The campark was similarity a good camera, but, it had the micro SD card. Good luck switching those out in the great outdoors. So, I ordered 2 of the camparks based on your work. I initially made the determination to buy US made cams, but, after viewing the options, like you, I put out a dozen or so cams and could not bring myself to by the least expensive US cam for $200. So much for my patriotism........

You would be surprised how many camera companies are outsourced and like you said, the ones made here are expensive. I try to buy USA where I can but it would be extremely difficult to cover much area spending $200 per cam...

Good morning Dave. I just got my first camera and I was wondering why you said good luck changing the sd cards out in the woods. I'm thinking about buying a 4 pack of cards setting them all up and changing them out every day or 2. I'm trying to catch a thief. The camera i have has a rubber protector that you can pop out to expose the USB port, but you have to open the bottom door to take the card out and it's only 1/8" below the USB port. 🤔 Seems like they would have made it easy to change out the card instead of taking down & hooking the entire camera up to your PC.

Good review mate. Here's my opinion. Apeman brand cameras are inexpensive. But I faced are 4 out of 10 cameras mulfunctioned within few weeks of trail use. 1. Menu malfunction, 2. Auto zoom mulfinction 3. Poor night vision 4. Leaking 5. Pink glare. 6. Broken battery hinge. I wrote to Apeman manufacturer directly and they replied I can't get warranty if I do not buy directly from them. They even claimed I bought imitation Apeman. Oh man, its common we buy cams from local resellers to avoid the hassle and waiting time. Just my 2cents worth of feedback to warn would be buyers

Nice job on this video. While recuperating fro surgery last fall, I decided to update my inventory of 10 or so trail cams most of which were antiquated and/ or junk. I was most interested in the user friendliness of the cameras as I had a few that were terrible. I settled on Zopu and a campark, both less then $100 and a cabella (gift certificate) about $150. I rate the zopu the best. Like in your comparison, there were many offerings that carried a different name but were actually the same product. Just a simple thing like having the lettering for the controls in white on a black background goes a long way compared to the black on black cams. In addition, there was an issue with the zopu. While peeling the lens protection off, it ripped in half. Likely because I did it in cold weather, zopu replaced it with minimal effort on my part. The campark is a decent camera, but, it used a micro SD card rendering it useless to me. Good luck changing out one of those in the bush. So, I ordered 2 of the campark cams you reviewed. Thanks for the assist.....

Usually there will be an indicator light that will flash when the camera is picking up motion. This allows you to walk around in front of it and test the detection area. Once you set the settings it will flash giving you a 30 sec delay before it starts taking pictures.

Great review, refreshingly to the point, thanks 👍 I have a few cams too, Apeman reviews are due to free gifts not quality! After mine stolen I only buy cheap ones just to see what's going on in the wood. Great review! One thing I have discovered is that trigger sensitivity is highly variable. I put two cameras on the same tree and one will take three times the number of deer pictures as the other camera. Have observed this?
@NextStepOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
From what I’ve figured out a lot of that comes down to the height on the tree/angle of the cam. There is a certain detection zone where it is more sensitive. I’d be curious to see the results if you ran the cameras on different trees at similar heights/angles.

They are very sensitive, so sensitive they pic up a squirrel about 30 yards out and trigger the camera. Thanks Joel! The only visible light is a faint red glow on the camera while it emits an infrared flash but there is no visible "flash". Hope that makes sense.

Can I setup a couple outside around my cabin that has been broken into? Making sure they are hidden in a tree. Will these give themselves away to humans? Flashing, lights?
@NextStepOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
They have a really dull red glow at night. If anything, I'd hang them high and the red glow could deter future break ins once they realize it is actively being monitored. I doubt they would see them though and should do the trick.

Which of the 3 had the best options for numbers of pictures, or rapid fire photos? Are any of the 3 able to be locked with a phython lock? Thanks and great review!
@NextStepOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
None of the doors are able to be locked with a python lock, unfortunately, however, all lock do the tree. The campark, letscom, and toguard all have essentially the same settings and can be customized very specifically.

@@NextStepOutdoors is there a camera that will alert you by email and that you can open on a laptop, my phone is with straight talk and I do not believe it is compatible with any trail camera plan, also, how did you view the photos and videos, taking out the SD card and putting it in your computer. So sorry for my ignorance, I am new to this.

@@caroljoevans6270 most "cellular" trail cameras will send pictures to a cell phone as well as either email or a website where you can view them remotely. There is another video on my channel where I review a few models of these as well.

Do any of these have an on/off switch, the current one that I am using doesn't have a clearly marked on/off you hold the button in until you think it's on and sometimes when you check it you find that you didn't have it turned on. Also if they do have on off is the button on the inside or outside?
@NextStepOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Guessing you’re running wild game innovations cams now. Super frustrating not having a designated on/off switch. All of these cams do on the inside of the door. They are clearly marked.

Great video and so informative! I am looking for a simple trail cam for raccoons, bobcats, and the occasional deer in my backyard. I have tried to find the Campark camera, but I cannot find it on Amazon. Since the video is a little older, are there any other inexpensive (under $50) trail cams you would recommend? Thank you!

Any idea of the battery life? It would be for the summer months.
@NextStepOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
I run Lithiums and they will last almost an entire year. If you are putting them over bait or minerals they will eat up the batteries quicker but I'd still imagine you could get through an entire Summer and into fall on the same set of batteries.

I had purchased a 2 pack of a no name brand called hollywtop from ebay for 65 last spring and they were excellent. Unfortunately I lost those 2 and 6 others in the north complex fire here in northern Ca. Unfortunately as well, those hollywtop are no longer available but after watching your review today they look exactly like those letscom you reviewed and had the same specs so Im betting they either just changed the name or like you said are made by the same mfg. I will be grabbing a few just to try them out. Thanks for the great review and video.
