I've got these. They are easy to program and the photos and video are very good. Nice and sharp. They will get water in them during a heavy rain. I just put them is a container with some rice for a couple of days and they dried out nicely. It didn't affect their performance.

I found out quickly that previewing through the app instead of the SD card will quickly run down the batteries. Also, in the settings it’s best to toggle to photo OR video, but not both.

Hi Rob. Great review here. I just purchased this exact model. Our deerstand is about 15 miles away from my house. If I leave it on our deerstand and come back in a few days, will I still be able to retrieve all photos and videos taken while we were gone? Or does this device needs to be taken out everyday?
@VentanaMedia2 жыл бұрын
You can wait for a few days or even longer. The photos and videos are saved on the SD card. You can probably wait a week and check on it. You can bring a new SD card and batteries with you and change the SD card/batteries. Then leave the trail cam there. It depends on how much activity you have at your deer stand. There is a setting in the trail camera that will over write the SD card if your SD card gets full with photos and videos. There are pros and cons to this setting.

I can now only change the settings remotely by Wi-Fi. The screen is now plain white when I turn it on. No settings details are seen. Can’t get it back even by trying a factory reset.

How do you connect to WIFI? I have Wi-Fi well within range of the unit and connect wifi turned on in the unit. It first tries wifi then bounces to Bluetooth.
@ericconfer9081 Жыл бұрын
The Bluetooth is how you live view the camera so it connects that way to the app

@@colinhunn2845 Be nice if we could get a replacement screen, it should have lasted more than 14 months or so. I have cheaper ones that cost half as much that were placed the same day as this one and they still work flawlessly. I too can sometime log on and change the settings remotely. Thanks for sharing your experience, I wonder if there are others with this same problem.

@@colinhunn2845 I contacted customer support and told them I would be giving a scathing review on KZbin Amazon and Facebook for a camera that didn't outlive the first set of alkalines I put in it. They sent me a replacement camera pronto. Lets see how long it lasts. It did take lots of great images and was a promising camera until the white screen of death. I wonder how to just get a new screen to fix it but gave up. It seems I can still connect remotely after fiddiling with it for a while but.... that's not a solution to a fairly expensive camera. I will post if I have problems with the replacement they sent me, So for now I am a happier customer than I was.

thanks for the video. no joy with this camera. first: the app wants access to ALL DEVICES ON THE NETWORK. yeah, I don't think so China. second: why does it need Bluetooth and WiFi on? third: followed directions, tried three different iOS devices, all of them could see the camera's WiFi network. none established a connection. all fails. no troubleshooting guidelines in the handbook.

Bluetooth is used on many models as merely an on/off switch for the trail cam's integrated wifi access point feature. This is because there is an extremely low power consuming bluetooth listening mode, where as wifi will drain the batteries down significantly. So you use the app to have your phone's bluetooth tell the camera to turn its wifi on, then connect to it as its own separate network which I have a hunch the app has to kind of help it connect. Then your phone will be connected directly to the trail cam and probably not like the fact that there's no internet access> I find it very frustrating that these things are not designed to allow you to connect it to your home wifi network router, as I would think it would make a lot more sense to be able to get the pictures out of it over the internet, which you could do if they had set it up to communicate with a wifi network instead of just being a network of its own with nothing on it.
