It's truly amazing to me seeing pretty much everyday and here on your channel as well, how many people fail to yield for emergency vehicles! You need to pull to the right immediately and regardless of which side of the road you are on, as often it is needed to go against traffic when responding to emergencies. I noticed one car in this video being pulled over by one of the Police Cruisers and I'm sure that person was given a strong warning or maybe a ticket. Trust me you do not want this kind of ticket, it's extremely expensive and you WILL NOT WIN your case, the judge will yell at you lol!

Drivers in the emergency vehicle's direction of travel were being pretty good. Sometimes if you are in the left lane and see Code 3 vehicles approaching and you don't think you have time to pull to the right I think it is prudent to just stop. The guy on the motorcycle didn't seem to have life preservation in mind and he is violating the law. For the people driving in the other direction, they are required to pull to the right and stop also. It's only on divided highway where you don't have to. Why? How is a driver to know if those emergency vehicles need to turn left onto a property on that side? I pull over and stop in those circumstances. When I was driving Code 3 (Fire and EMS) I sometimes had trouble making left turns between intersections. Thanks Santa Cruz Films for providing the CHP CAD for the incident. I can imagine that those who haven't listened to a scanner for years or haven't worked in public safety might have a lot of trouble reading it.

What is the siren used by the CHP?

It's a siren that was specially made for CHP. It's unique and only for Highway Patrol. It's called a Federal Signal PA500 or whelen.

pretty much what it is it's just if it's in the city it's covered by city but since this is a state route that this accident occurred on it's chp coverage area for example there's a highway Where I live and some of it is considered a city Street so it's covered by the city while the rest of it is considered a state route so it's covered by the highway patrol. However in in some cities the highway patrol covers all the accidents even if the accident occurs in a neighborhood.

HD firebuff93 it really depends tho. I see accidents all the time on Highway 395 & it’s a coin toss on if CHP or SBSO will handle. Sheriffs deputies always get there first since HWY395 runs through 3 cities that contract with the sheriffs office.

They really should do away with the ford explorer police interceptors..for 2 reasons...reason number 1 is that they're not calibrated like the Dodge Chargers and the Ford Taurus police interceptor and number to they're still top heavy like every other SUV which flip over easily...the idiot Sheriff in my town actually had 3 CHOICES for his department...the Ford Explorer police interceptor the Ford Taurus police interceptor and the Dodge Charger police interceptor ...the moron picked the Shitty explorer...I know that most law enforcement agencies around the country have the explorer BUT the Sheriff was given CHOICES...as much as I hate MOPAR I would still take it over explorers....
