Originally they had contracted with Whelen to make a custom siren tone. Now with all of their new vehicles, they're using the Whelen Cencom Core with Cencom Sapphire tones I believe.

I wonder, if the emergeny vehicles in the US would be much more visible, if they used only blue lights on their light bars. For context, i have seen some emergency vehicles from austria using only blue lights and they were very visible in a flood of white, yellow and red lights that is pretty common in a city.

This is exactly what Lansing NY looked and sounded like last night. They had a very big brush/wildfire and fire trucks from different departments all over Tompkins county and even surrounding counties such as cortland county responded to the fire.

Whats weird is that in my little town of Alaska, all of the stoplights have the Emergency Vehicle Preemption tech installed. The stoplights will change the signal to green for the emergency vehicle. At the same time, the system turns red for other drivers. You would think most other places would have that, especially for larger areas like California.

When I heard the cho siren for the first time I thought of the toy police cars I had as kid and sound so similar to each other so every time I hear the chp siren I think of a toy police cars siren 😂 but the sirens on their cars are bad ass with the lights following the sirens pattern 💯💯💯
