4 Day Solo Float Trip with my Dog

In this episode, join Oliver and I as we set out to explore a new river in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. With thunderstorms, whitewater, ticks and mosquitos, conditions were difficult at times but this was an exciting trip. Amazing fishing, swift fun paddling and a delicious catch and cook shore lunch made this a trip one we won't forget! From Marquette county to Lake Michigan, this 60+ mile adventure beings in the video below..

I grew up on lake superior, had a Labrador dog as a teenager. We went hunting and fishing and went everywhere together. Watching your video brings back fond memories. I'll be heading back to the picture rocks area to fish trout next spring. I did a lot of backpacking and camping as a kid, hope to do it again after I retire.

Great video kid! We just came home from up there in champion camping and floating on the Peshekee River 2 days ago. The U.P. is our favorite! The mosquitoes were brutal thou for sure! Super cool! I lived Gladstone for almost 5 years and I absolutely loved fishing around the area. The Escanaba river was always a blast. That area has a lot to offer. Great video man. I really enjoyed it!

My stomping grounds. I know that river well. Put in up in Gwinn and enjoy the ride. I fish that river occasionally and it's a short rip to Cornell from my house in Gladstone. Lots of rain lately made for some fast current brother. Awesome video! Hitting the salmon up at dawn.

My son (14) and I start our 7 days doing the Manistee on Sunday. I had a German Shepherd years ago that would ride in my canoe. We tipped one day, and her collar got stuck on the limb of a sweeper underwater. I almost lost her. Be careful Olly!

Great video! For them mosquitoes and flies too get some dragon fly pins to put on you and your gear it's amazing how good it works. Especially if they clip on and look like they are flying up above you or around you. Give it a shot! Keep up the good work!

Good stuff! Looks like a fun trip with a great paddling partner. Man - your canoe takes a beating! My 14.5 foot wood/canvas canoe can't take that sort of treatment, so I'd be carrying it over those portages. But good on you for taking on this adventure. The UP is amazing country.
