omg how can you guys be so slim when it seems that all you do is eat and drink? I will look out for those coffee shops next time though as we concentrated more on temples etc (nothing more exciting than collecting those goshuin stamps and calligraphy) . It was summer when we went to the bamboo grove, but misting with rain. It was great because there were hardly any people there then too, and we took some interesting photographs. Also the the actors house at the far end - Okochi-Sanso Villa was lovely. We had a green tea in the tea house with a beautiful open window looking into bamboo groves. It was a delight. I cannot wait to go to Japan again as it is up there with my most favourite destinations. Glad I found your vlog Sam and Victor for in the future, cheers.

Relax and have a good trip like a sample! Kyoto, which has been the capital for many times, has remained unspoiled each time. The good old days of Japan can still be seen today. Kyoto that people all over the world long for! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Next time bring vaccum sealed bags with hand pump it will give you more luggage space and allow you to purchase larger plush items. It will shrink and flatten large plush until you open the seal and it will expand back to normal size in a few hours after opening.

I am a big fan of your vlog . You guys have such great tastes. Very fashionable and luxurious. I am originally from Japan and had been living in US for over 20 years. I still go back to Japan once a year and travel everywhere inside Japan, but still my favorite place is Kyoto . Can you do more shopping vlog ? Have you ever been to Hiroshima or Shikoku area? Definitely recommend.

@@SamandVictor : I just happened to see one of your videos and enjoyed it. I loved the way you spliced it into segments, along w/ amusing but informational snippets, but your choice of using Brazilian/bossa cafe jazz (my fave) truly creates a happy relaxing vibe and is what made me decide to subscribe to your channel… FYI, I’m married to an American Asian who lived/worked in Japan for almost 15 years & your vidz reminded us how much we enjoyed our many road trips & weekend or week’s escapades to various places within Japan… Even though we were almost tecbically “insiders” who resided there, the country is still chockful of surprises waiting to be discovered… As for cafes, there are many to suit all tastes and ages, which are what we loved… and we enjoyed staying in both local & western hotels in Japan, too; so varied in styles, budgets & enjoyed the evening finger food suppers & buffet b’fasts or brunches… loved the rest stops on roadtrips, too… Would like to keep watching your videos from now on.

Thank you for visiting Japan. :-) Past 26 years I’ve been living in another country but I was born and raised in Japan, I truly miss the culture, customs, food, politeness, cleanses and beauty~. I like how you filmed places and objects and edited the video. It takes many hours to make this kind of video. It’s well done, enjoyable and relaxing. I can’t wait to visit Japan and next time I’d like yo visit Kyoto and Kanazawa. ❤

@@SamandVictor thanks for letting me know! If I go, think I'll go in mid-November as it looked like you were at the tail end of autumn (though you still got some really good shots). I also really appreciated how informational and honest your video was. You didn't just show everyone a "perfect" trip though instead gave some really great info about the crowds. Curious...were the crowds all over the streets in Gion? Or, were they just at the main temples/shrines?

I am going to Kyoto in Jan. Just wondering if I don't stay in Park Hyatt hotel, can I still go to the restaurant inside Hyatt? Also, do you normally go to places in a taxi or using public transport like bus? I have never been to Japan so I am a bit nervous. Strange thing is I am never nervous in Europe but maybe I worry about the language barrier in Japan.
