I like that you aren't embarrassed to show a trip where no fish were caught. It happens quite often to many of us and there's no shame in it.

Just got my first kayak but I appreciate this so much. A lot of fisherman don’t have the budget to be on the water every time and this helps them 👊 you’re a real one for this. Keep up the good work

I live in north TX, I hit the flounder the first or second week of December, depending on weather, I wait for that forecast with strong north wind 25+ mph, day temps 40 deg. wind chill 25-30 deg. cloudy day and outgoing tide is best in the morning. We find a bulkhead near a deep channel, use green or yellow chart 3-4" swimming mullet, and dead stick that bait a foot away from the structure. If the water depth is 1-3 ft along the bulkhead that is the best. Note: The wind has to be blowing into that bulkhead, if you are on the protected side, no good, you have to deal with the wind in your face and dress warm. Flounder move in pods and will stage in an area until they are well fed, then wait for the outgoing tide and north wind to give them that last push to the gulf in Dec. These flounder, most of them are full, they do not like to swim or move around willingly when water temps hit the low 60s, fish slow, slow, and use fresh artificial scent to make them budge from the mud.

Hey Nick, thank you for going out there and providing some useful information for us even tho conditions are not optimal haha. I've recently tried the seawolf park wading on both sides and couldn't get a flatty. I also tried the South Jetty spot yesterday on a beautiful day, water was so clear you could see hundreds of mullet..but the tide was getting low so didn't catch anything either. It's always fun trying out new spots. Any tips on optimal weather conditions (wind direction) and is a falling or rising tide better for fishing?

Don't forget the other rock groins along the Galveston seawall. Fish each side of the groin. If your not catching fish and don't see any bait, move on to the next groin. I've been fishing down here for 20+ years. Some rock groins are better than others, but that can change from day to day. You'd be surprised at the fish caught along the seawall. 😀

Hope Angler!! Sharing spots hahaha jk. Love the videos. During the winter in Galveston the specks, reds and flounder head up into the canals and back bays. Brackish water canals our money during the winter. Winter is my favourite time of year to fish because they go up into the canals and you can catch tons! Great time for bank fishing and kayaks up into the canals. Try it out. You will be amazed at the numbers you can catch casting toward the banks up down canals in the winter. Hope this helps someone catch some fish. Good luck guys!Keep up the videos!!
