Keeping it simple.. the fishing and the cooking. We dont always need the 40in reds.. sometimes a few whiting and sand trout make the best darn lunch :)))

You got that right!

I had an epic day yesterday with that cold front and few hours of low tide flowing out. Just school after school coming out of the marsh near new bayou.
@MDLRFishingАй бұрын
I’ve never really had much luck at New Bayou the few times I went there. It’s a long trek by kayak so I rarely go there.
@JohnSmith-kz1llАй бұрын
@ yeah only good on a good moving low tide only time I will go. On a high tide it’s just too much to cover and they seem to be pushed up in the grass and hard to get to.

Cool I had some sand trout last week off the peir by my house ... I used one for cut bait and low and behold a speckled trout nice one and only one ..was bunch of big Gars swiming close to the peir to got swarmed by Gars lol

Was hoping to hit Galveston this weekend. Not sure the weather/wind will cooperate. We'll see.

Great video! For fishing those locations, is it best to use braided main line with a fluorocarbon leader, and what pound test? I'm coming down to Galveston later this week and am hopeful to catch a few fish from the pier or rocks.
@MDLRFishingАй бұрын
I always use braid with fluoro leader lines. The size test lb will depend on the fish you’re targeting.

I fish the 91st Pier all the time.. you want to see the stuff I catch off of there for my pictures. You should have been using that Croaker for bait
@MDLRFishingАй бұрын
Sounds like some fun fishing! I was specifically targeting croaker and whiting on this trip.

Alright, not sure why but when the music came on while the cook was happening I couldn't help but think about the fishing show the Spanish Fly. I guess you need to get the fly rod and get after some bonefish.

😢😢😢 pore pelicans are they want is food Mark help them out dude
@MDLRFishingАй бұрын
Too many people feed them to the point that when they see fish. They’ll try and eat it before you get a chance to unhook them. These pelicans have no fear of humans and that’s not a good thing.

Man don't be kicking that Pelican what the hell is the matter with you. That's real unsportsmanlike. Only takes an idiot to do crap like that. You just want you to give him the fish that's all. And that croaker is not undersized you can use it for bait.
@MDLRFishingАй бұрын
Too many people feed them to the point that when they see fish they’ll try and eat it before you get a chance to unhook them. These pelicans have no fear of humans and that’s not a good thing. What will you say when the pelican bites a kid holding their catch. They do it because of people feeding them. It’s a learned behavior. So many animals have to die because of accidents that involve people getting hurt by them. Stop feeding them and they won’t be so bold. Thanks for the judgmental comment but most importantly, thanks for watching.

@@MDLRFishingI was in LA and they would not feed the pelicans. He said they get to a point where they rely on feeding. They say they will sit on the dock and fall in dead because they will not go feed themselves.
