During the season I recently tore my ACL. I played volleyball and I was an outside hitter and I loved it. It was hard for me to accept my accident because I really loved playing and I felt like I led my team down. The doctor said I need to focus on getting stronger before I start playing again unfortunately he said it would take a while. victoria you inspire me to work hard, push myself, focus on my future I thank you for your inspiration. you don’t understand how helpful this has been bc ive always have ate extra and my family is hispanic and they say “there are poor people in this world that would love to be eating what yr eating so eat it all” so i always ate extra and then i felt guilty. ive not beenhappy the way that i see myself and i still dont hut im working on it i play volleyball and i want to go to college playing volleyball and that my ultimate goal for rn. im playing very well but not as great and i weigh 142lbs and im in 9th grade im normal i am tall or average like a regular libero in college (5’6) and i felt like i was overweight and i mainly felt guilt while i ate. in this quarantine i have been so productive and your video has not comed at the best time. im a chocolate fan and i used to eat like 3 chocolates a day but now i put goal that i would only eat one. your video is literally what i have been thinking every single time i have ate and when u put out the video i couldnt be more greatful. keep up the good work bc u are going to be such a role model to many girls that play volleyball bc many have the same problems that u have spoken abt and i thought that people havent talked abt it enough especially from a players perspective. love you a lot for that.

Victoria, I really enjoyed and appreciate this video. I bumped into it through search for mindful eating and found your tips to be insightful but simple. While all of it was great, the "bell ringer" for me was the statement that once you're satisfied / battery is full, the remaining food is waste, period. Now it's a matter of what you want to do with the waste - put it in storage for later, the garbage for disposal or do you want to put the "garbage" into your body and become the garbage can storing that waste. That image just resonated for me so much. I'm a visual person so metaphors really work for me and you hit on a great one there. I will watch other videos of yours to continue learning and growing. Thanks and happiness to you.

You inspire me to do better and push myself self. I play volleyball but I recently tore my ACL so I am going through recovery right now. It was really hard for me to accept that I couldn't play. I was an outside hitter and I loved it. The worst part was it happened during the season but the doctor said I need to focus on getting myself stronger before playing again. Hi! I have been trying to recover from my restricting eating disorder! I’m so grateful for you videos and thank you so much because you really REALLY helped me have a better relationship with food! One question I have is, whenever I know I’m full and done eating my meal I throw out my waste. It’s hard because it makes me feel like I’m restricting again just because I threw out the food I didn’t need to eat. I think I might just still be in that mode where I want to restrict but I know I have to get better. This might be a hard question to answer, but I’m just wondering if you have tips on how to STOP the feeling of wanting to restrict again when you throw out the waste. Thank you again!❤️

@victoriagarrickbrowne4 жыл бұрын
If you are eating because you are bored, then aka you just want entertainment or something to DO. I recommend finding something ELSE to do... walk the dog, paint your nails, play a board game, paint a picture, organize your closet, etc. Do something else that involves your hands so that you can find entertainment in a different way. Hope this is helpful. :)

What people say mindful eating is: tell yourself you need that healthy food because your body knows what is good for you and the only thing good for you is healthy food, best would be: high protein, low carb, low fat, high in vitamins, etc. What mindful eating actually is: the things Vic says in her video😍 Thanks once more for your amazing content Victoria!❤️

Such a fantastic video, thank you so much! After watchng your previous video, I really wanted to give this a shot, since I've also had a lot of problems with emotional (pretty much only due to boredom) eating. The advice is really good, but there's something I'm not really sure about how to fit in. I do sports and exercise as well, and as such I have certain macronutrient needs I really want to fulfill, especially when it comes to protein. Because of that, I find it's really easy to, in my mind, convince myself that I'm better off eating a protein rich food even if I'm not hungry, since I realistically really need the protein. But that can for one really easily backfire, but also means I can't really follow mindful eating. Perhaps you experienced the same sort of thing playing at USC and have a tip to overcome this issue? :) Thank you so much, love your videos as always! :D Edit: Not sure if it's relevant, but I'm a guy, so where I'm at right now, I should be eating around 140 of protein a day, which is soo much :/

@victoriagarrickbrowne4 жыл бұрын
Leaving you "hungry" versus "not satisfied" are two different things. If you are hungry, then get more food to eat! But if you are just not satisfied but you are full, thats where the learning piece and how can I make a better choice next time so that I am satisfied comes into play. :)
