I discovered those chords basically by accident because I knew only playing power chords or open chords as an elec guitar seemed kind of bland and/or not the best ones to use during some songs. Crazy!

This is awesome, very practical - using these inversions as soon as possible in my playing!

Bro you’re a great teacher! Thanks for using your gifts for the Kingdom! I’ve been playing electric guitar now for a year and a half and it’s been a journey learning the dynamics of it. This is one of the better tutorial videos I’ve seen!

Hey question for songs in the key of c or d are you playing this sequence high up on the neck or are you rearranging the chords and playing in the middle
@bryanyiguitar4 жыл бұрын
@@LakeHuron Hey there! Thank you for your kind words! Personally, I like to use these chords even in the key of C, but rarely in the key of D. For the key of D, you can look at 0:14 of my other video for the chord shape that I use: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYS2ZXpqirx_qaM. In this video, I show it in the key of C, but for the key of D, just move up 2 frets so that you're barre-ing the 3 strings on the 7th fret. It'll make sense when you watch it haha. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

I really needed this tutorial, thank you! Now if you can tell me how to do this arthritis in my hand LOL. My challenge is also turning these into sus and 7th /7th minor chords we seem to play a lot of those.

Hi Bryan, since you demonstrated chord pattern of 1, 6, 4 , 5. What would you suggest for chord 2 & 3 in this similar setting?
@bryanyiguitar Жыл бұрын
I actually use the same shape of the 6 cord for the 2 and 3 chord. In this video's example for the 6 chord, the middle finger is on a E note since we're in the key of G, which makes the chord an Em chord. So for the 2 chord (Am), use the same shape, but where the middle finger lands on an A note. Same for the 3 chord (Bm), you'd put your middle finger where it lands on a B note. You can think of the 6 shape as the "minor chord shape", and just move it around with the middle finger determining what chord you're playing. It's your preference to either do the higher or lower octave depending on the situation. Hope that makes sense!
