Even the greatest visual of all time, Eugene of S.E.S., had her jaw shaved, her eye corners cut, her natural eyelids upgraded and her nose done. Almost everyone has had some sort of surgery done. I've been a long time Taeyeon Stan. When I first came across her, she immediately became my favourite visual in K-pop and I thought she was one of the prettiest people I'd ever seen. I did have a certain struggle coming to terms with the various facial changes Tae went through over the years, even though she still looks super beautiful. And ofc this is not a topic where my opinion matters at all it's completely her choice, but I sometimes feel bad that a girl who was already so pretty felt the need to undergo so many procedures to feel beautiful. I just hope she doesn't get anymore procedures done and has finally come to a place where she's comfortable in her own skin.

I have not followed SNSD for while after Jessica left in 2014 but I knew their materials up until 2015 and I would always watch their Japan tours online. When I saw Taeyeon again for the supergroup and her recent music, I was genuinely in shock. She always had a very strong jawline and it was always highlighted on stage when she's belting the high notes especially when she faces sideways. Now her chin and jaw has been shaved off for a softer look. Jessica had orthognathic surgery too to correct her jaw but she had no further surgical procedures aside from possible fat transfer to the face or fillers. Taeyeon's features has changed a lot including her cheekbones and eyes.

I'd say that maybe she over stressed herself for SNSD's comeback because the whole world was waiting to see it. There are scenes in the mv where she looks great (when she has long hair) but the scenes with short hair she's very very thin. I liked Taeyeon's beauty prior to I dont know Lion Heart / Party era? I especially loved her look in Genie and The Boys era. However, I feel like at some point after Mr Mr era / Lion Heart era, her overall look kept on changing in unnatural way. I have absolutely no issue with idols getting plastic surgery but what it does annoy me is the fact that these idols keep insisting that their completely natural. I mean i get it if their fans found out I don't think any of them would have a healthy response (since it seems they all choose to believe that these idols are in every way perfect in order to worship them in peace lol ) but still by doing so they are claiming that beauty like that exists naturally and in process make us normal real natural people with lots of imperfection compare our looks with them and loss our confidence and self love . I'm not against k pop idols getting plastic surgery I'm just weirded out by the idea why they are all getting same type of procedures that make 'em look the same. same eye shape, same lip fillers same nose bridge , same jawline implants and if that's not enough same same skin tone with similar makeup. Damn, I wish they'd stop altering their faces just to have facial features that may stop being the beauty standard in 5 years. You could tell that many idols (esp 2nd gen) who did PS did so to fit the current beauty trend, and they'd probably do it again when the trend changes. I mean, I'm all for enhancing your beauty however you want to, but there's a point when it becomes unhealthy. What we’re not gonna do is putting blame on these women and calling them stiff. They did plastic surgery because they suffered from social pressure. Let’s talk about that instead. Change perspective. Talk about the psychological outcome for example. There is so many things I didn’t like about this situation but one thing that angered me is what people think about Taeyeon. I saw ppl commenting on how she used to be ‘so beautiful’ during her debut days. Ok?! That was 15 years ago. I’m sure in 15 years your face change as well. Add that to the fact that stress was a major factor in her career. Clearly plastic surgery isn’t the only thing that made her looking like the way she’s looking right now. It’s very hypocritical of us to show our support to ‘natural’ looking boys and girls but throwing shade to the ones that went under the knife. When I first got into K-pop. I believed in those shorts & tiktok videos about Aespa members especially, Karina that they've gone through multiple surgeries which is enough to call them PLASTIC but, later I checked their M/Vs and fell in love with their songs & concept. I noticed Karina's facial expressions are kinda limited. She never seemed happy and it felt like she is carrying the burden from her company or the amount of hate she gets from netizens is directly showing on her face. In my opinion, it's not because of surgery ( I'm not denying the fact that she got plastic surgeries) It can be her natural expressions and after all SM's the visuals are supposed to have cold appearance. But, I really think people should stop K-pop idols judging that harshly. It can only create insecurity & negativity.

Karina's looks isn't bad, but the process was dangerous, from her feature with Kai she looked different,(her eyes looked puffy and slited with a bent jaw) then the AI interaction add again she looked(the eyes and chin) different again from there between savage and next level there was a weird transformation. I guess the desire for perfection limits her to certain looks like hair colours and makeup coz her makeup of next level and savage was the same, even in DCT.
