That thing is awesome Kev. It's redefined the hobby. No longer do you have to go fast or bash a RC car for it to explode it does it first time you touch the throttle! Major timesaver. Makes Stemp a bit redundant though, replaced by a machine that destroys itself, sorry Stemp, you have been made obsolete! That's 2022 for ya!

Apart from what people think 3d printed parts are actually really strong, you just need to learn to use the material correctly: I have 3d printed rims, but every wall is thick between 5mm and 10mm, same for the Shocks arms. It's really sad for this car to fail like this, it looks like the damages wee caused by real silly errors. I would have made all those blue parts out of molded nylon, the motors mounts almost two times thicker, the chassis thicker, the body mounted traditionally with clips, the motors controlled by a flight controller (like fpv drones) and the wheels belted. It looks like a really good prototype tough, it just need some minor but vitally important modifications 😂😢

You really need a special made motor with a huge shaft, maybe 4mm steel if you want it to really be able to survive a beating. Also going to need to design the bell to protect the magnets in the motor better so that dust from the road doesn't just wreck them too. Could be very cool with proper design, but this clearly isn't it from a mechanical standpoint and we didn't really get to see if the SW was any good with how short lived it was.

This is probably the hardest your videos have made me laugh. I can't imagine they actually tested this car before they shipped them. First problem is a car that looks like it was designed to be a 100+ mph car has unbelted tires instead of belted or foamies. On top of that, the suspension parts look like they are made from saltine crackers. The power train looks serious though. How did they expect a paper mache suspension setup to hold down all that power?

The Kiss brothers in Hungary have a lot of redevelopment to do as well as giving you a full refund. They should want the car back to evaluate what went wrong so they can use more reliable parts on their 3D printing machines. Thanks for the great video Kev. The drivetrain, motor setup, and software looks great. Just think they need to work on durability “slightly”. Stronger wheels, stronger hubs, stronger diffuser (or more space for tire expansion) better mounting system for the body. Ok so basically I think it’s a great prototype to hang on the wall, but it’s not ready for the consumer yet.

Lol I've literally implemented the same idea with some drone motors I had around and some 3D printing. I expected it to be super fast, but in the end, it was super hard to control ( I guess due to extra mass and inertia in the wheels ) and I crashed and burned it on the first test run. I still plan to return to it and try again, maybe I get some inspiration from these guys.

This has always been the problem with hub motors, in full-size applications as well. Far too much unspring mass.
@FarmerFpv
@FarmerFpv 2 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisBLong, They have a gyroscopic effect. Unsprung mass is not an issue when you have it dampened for its weight. Unsprung mass is always brought up in the full-size car world and is always a myth that has no effect on the vehicles. Besides, the parts were 90% 3D printed. if it were injected molded or machined parts it would have not had these issues. The company is a POS.

I'm guessing as soon as you come off the power the motors use magnetic field for braking to. Perhaps adding power then reducing power is asking too much of the 3d printed mounts and the fast slowing/braking action caused the failures. You'd think they would test it before sending it to you lol. Great video, haven't laughed like that in a while.

Seems to me like the motors should be inboard to reduce unsprung weight and also fixed firmly to the chassis so they don’t twitch and torque the suspension. The main failings are the wheels though which should have been easily avoided, shame as it looked like it was going to rip
