Apart from what people think 3d printed parts are actually really strong, you just need to learn to use the material correctly: I have 3d printed rims, but every wall is thick between 5mm and 10mm, same for the Shocks arms. It's really sad for this car to fail like this, it looks like the damages wee caused by real silly errors. I would have made all those blue parts out of molded nylon, the motors mounts almost two times thicker, the chassis thicker, the body mounted traditionally with clips, the motors controlled by a flight controller (like fpv drones) and the wheels belted. It looks like a really good prototype tough, it just need some minor but vitally important modifications 😂😢

I recognize those start up tones. Those are BLHeli escs. Those motors look like GARTT ML5010s which are a really cheap brand of drone motors. You'd think for the price of this thing they'd use a good brand like T-Motor or Brotherhobby.

Or molded plastic parts, or maybe CNC machined, but not this weak 3d printed stuff...

Great video I really hope to see more cars like this they go insane speeds I think if you put a direct drive on the 200+ mph rc car so it won’t be geared down at all because 1000 kv motors in that it’s gonna rip (you would need insane space to run it and great tires)

That was the funniest thing I've seen all week, thank you so much No. 4/25, good luck getting parts for that thing. It looks amazing though, great concept

Lol I've literally implemented the same idea with some drone motors I had around and some 3D printing. I expected it to be super fast, but in the end, it was super hard to control ( I guess due to extra mass and inertia in the wheels ) and I crashed and burned it on the first test run. I still plan to return to it and try again, maybe I get some inspiration from these guys.

This has always been the problem with hub motors, in full-size applications as well. Far too much unspring mass.
@FarmerFpv2 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisBLong, They have a gyroscopic effect. Unsprung mass is not an issue when you have it dampened for its weight. Unsprung mass is always brought up in the full-size car world and is always a myth that has no effect on the vehicles. Besides, the parts were 90% 3D printed. if it were injected molded or machined parts it would have not had these issues. The company is a POS.

get the inspiration from other guys or keep it up with your idea, as you have seen in this video theres nothing to learn from and its sad

Check out "e laermans" efforts on KZbin... Very, very effective with hubmotors on a car and a reverse-trike.

I'm guessing as soon as you come off the power the motors use magnetic field for braking to. Perhaps adding power then reducing power is asking too much of the 3d printed mounts and the fast slowing/braking action caused the failures. You'd think they would test it before sending it to you lol. Great video, haven't laughed like that in a while.

Seems to me like the motors should be inboard to reduce unsprung weight and also fixed firmly to the chassis so they don’t twitch and torque the suspension. The main failings are the wheels though which should have been easily avoided, shame as it looked like it was going to rip
@RobertNES8162 жыл бұрын
It's like they designed the car and never actually tested it.
@nadiaelderbas85152 жыл бұрын
The main problem is the clearances between the chassis and the ground and between the wheels and the body.

I liked the look of this, reminded me of the esc and motors from my old racing quads. Conceptually awesome (could potentially use gyro and motor speed for traction control and torque vectoring). In practice… it’s a ways off yet 😅

That company really had some balls to send you a car that’s damn near totally 3-D printed. What the hell did they think was gonna happen and they knew you was gonna make a video. The design, if made from quality parts looks awesome though.

Hmmm, seems like this company is trying all sorts of bizarre ideas, but never seeing things through! Disappointing for sure. Breaks literally out of the box lol this is why you don't build stuff solely on a computer program, real world testing will always show the faults! Thanks Kevin for the amazing video! Always a pleasure watching this channel!!
