You said this a long time ago that ended up making me bank. You said the red zones were amazing but not necessarily an expectation. You said the orders are pretty much random because you never know who’s gonna order from where. So running to each red zone when the app updates every 10 minutes isn’t a necessity. You’re just as likely to get a good order in a not red zone. I’m in an area that can be slow. But that proved to be so true. I’ve never chased the red zones. I stay around my favorite restaurants. I always get some amazing orders from those restaurants even when there’s no red zones close to it.

Good info. Even though I'm a top dasher I continue to schedule to help eliminate competition during prime times. Also, the tip after is in my area. You had just made a video about this, and I'll be damn, after I completed a order doordash notified me that the customer added an additional tip. Awww, shucks Bentley was right..woohoo!!! 😂

So, the whole advice boils down to... 1 - Have early access and be near your zone at 3pm 2 - keep watching the app for red 3 - on the hour and every half hour check for available schedules in case someone else missed theirs

Good statement, however, things had change a lot in the gator economy after the pandemic effect. So that more new visits far away has made it hard for a lot of top dashers, in most state, so if someone has to schedule a dash with a scooter, it has to almost go out state, in order to make a living it seems like the gig economy is overcrowded , in most places in NJ 😢

15 mins before and after top of the hour or half past is a great time to check as well, it's when a scheduled dasher can dash now for their upcoming dash and atleast in my area it seems people drop dashes then, maybe had them prescheduled and deleted the dash once it pops up saying it started 15 mins ago.

I have only been Dashing two weeks. Done 120 so far. Made just shy of $1000. Scheduling hasn’t been an issue in my area, 15 minutes south of Raleigh. It’s almost always very busy or busy and I can dash now whenever I want. I still schedule though.

Another great tip that I use if I'm not top dasher is to use the early scheduling and book for the entire day. 3 different than blocks around 3 to 4 hours a piece. Therefore you can pretty much dash all day whenever you want while not being too dasher. They let you dash now 15 minutes before and up to 30 minutes after. Plus busy times

Steal a shift, then once you're on hit the extend dash, it'll give you a drop down menu for times you want to extend the dash until.

I live in a smaller city, I’d say it’s a town. Sure as crap we got a local ass hole who likes to snag up the whole day. To make matters worse, there is never and I mean NEVER the option to “dash now.” Thank you for the 3pm notice though as I have just discovered this. Is it 3pm across the board or pacific time? Hopefully I can schedule a slot here soon and have my first dash, and you better bet if I find out who the Karen is who thinks their income is above everyone else’s. I will definitely be calling them out on it. It’s actually so selfish and rude to do this, especially when there is never a “dash now” in our area.

Great tips! I have been scheduling out on DoorDash for awhile now just to make sure I can dash when I need to. But lately, the app will abruptly end my dash in the middle of a scheduled dash. No reason. So that has become frustrating for me since I do plan out and do what I’m supposed to do to make sure I can dash. Hoping this is something they figure out because thankfully I’ve been lucky and have been able to get back in within 10 minutes each time, but I always wonder what orders I could have had during that lapse.

i got to mention the algorithm i think factors into this as well bcause i have scheduled myself and have extended over and over and over when my schedule was suposed to end and this is the 2nd time i've snatched huge hours fo dashing every 30 mins before my schedule ends and i keep extending i have a top dashing time of 16hrs straight and this one i have for tonight runs my schedule from 12a.m til 11pm the next night and i dont have top dashers so a top dasher didn't take it i'm guessing

Thx for the random help via Twitter etc over past year and I'm on pace to make twice what I did as a GM of a famous pizza chain...same crazy hours but no boss and I make my own hours and take a week off to Destin when I want and deal with not 1 worthless employee of which there are many in 2023. Anybody that reads this if you can't do your own simple maintenance (brakes n simple stuff) find a friend someone you trust and that's my other hack to add to this. If U have to take 3 days off to get a simple car issue taken care of....and frankly now I just rent a car worst case scenario. It hurts my soul to lose $100ish off the top (I'm including my daily gas) but if you are a heavy hitter and have no car anyway and want to work...also Uber rent I have gotten a new Camry rented with all fees for $55 a day a few times. I just scheduled all week even if I don't dash at least I will have the time slot.... To everybody that's commenting saying that I'm wrong and I shouldn't hog the time slot I can care less what y'all saying! This is the reason they give us the opportunity to schedule it after 10 minutes if we don't clock in they drop it and it becomes available to everyone or if it's busy it's still available to everyone. Keep running it up for for him cuz they get paid each time you comment. I am somewhat disappointed with the comments to my post. @@CadenMichnal good for you calling him out. I agree. It’s that kind of human nature that makes things stop. They simply only care for themselves! Very selfish. Tell you the truth schedule doesn’t even matter. ( I guess for a specific zone you want) but you can literally go to an active zone hit dash now ( I’d do at least a 4hr dash for your begging shift) dash around that area and work your way to the areas where you want. Idk if you might be taking scheduled dashes from others. But I don’t think the schedule really matters. I get out of work at four jump in my car and dash from my location at work and eventually just make my way to my home town and dash till like 10pm. I believe the schedule only matters if you have a set time window to dash. And I’ll just keep bringing you to that one selected area that you scheduled to dash. I didn’t realize that the dashes kept bringing me to a town that I do normally dash it but I didn’t want that to be my regular zone. But now I know, the first scheduled zone is where the dashes will likely take you! ( in or 12.2 miles around the surrounding area)

@@TheSPEEZY99 good point! I personally live in a smaller town, so dash now is rarely up for grabs. Where I am located there is hardly enough orders to keep the scheduled drivers busy and so when people in my area schedule a whole day to simply only show up for an hour. It forces people to have to be readily available to snag the spot or potentially be ok with out work for over a week. I know a lady that does about 50 hours a week in our area (she’s like the main dasher here) and she was telling me that she’s had to call out noobies who sign up and consume the whole day for a week straight, allowing for no scheduling at all unless it’s like 4am, to than just not even show up :( she said it forces her to know longer be able to choose her hours which is why she signed up for it in the first place. She’s always staring at her phone trying to snag a dash now button that is rarely available, or to hope schedule before everyone else does to make a living. What was once smooth and consistent is now a huge struggle to even get in. I only do about 20 hours a week tops but I have also experienced this myself. In a city i would imagine this is not an issue, but for small towns it’s everything. People are either greedy or dumb or both haha, but it’s gotta stop.
