Tips from a dasher: 1. Do not drive more than 8+ miles for a order, gas prices are high save money! 2. In order to dash anytime for as long as you want, you MUST meet the following requirements: a. 70+% acceptance rate b. 90+% delivery rate c. 4.7+ customer rate d. 200+ overall deliveries 3. Para app is ur best friend 4. Be ready to encounter areas with no reception/WiFi 5. You Do Not need a pizza bag, just use your original grab bag for pizza orders 6. Make sure to STOP & EAT, this is crucial!
@jonathancauley53452 жыл бұрын
Another thing is which is contrary to what he said is, NEVER dash out of state! Driving out of state will have you spending more money because not only are doing your whole shift there, but you have to come back to your house. So instead paying only once for gas your paying twice in 1 day. However, if your someone who is on the borderline then you may only have to pay one. But if there is no dash on the other side of the borderline and you end having to drive to the middle of the state, then ur still stuck paying twice. This is also true for driving more 2 hours to a busy area, which is what I am referring to this whole time. Hopefully there’s busy zones only 45 mins away from you.

As a seasoned doordash driver, here is my personal top five. Number one, don't move for any less than $2 in a mile, doordash always gives you mileage driven and cost of the food, quick math, 1/2 on the dollar, and see if the mileage is under that. The reason why I say this, if you spend $60 in fuel, and it gets you 350 miles, and we will take 50 miles off unnecessary amount of idling, driving around, etc, you should make $600 off one tank of fuel that cost $60. Number two, don't accept loads under $6, even if the mileage is half the cost AKA $2 a mile times three miles is $6. The reason why I say this, is because you lose more time in an hour getting in and out of your vehicle, waiting for the restaurant, and waiting for the customer then you do driving around, and you would have to work twice as hard just to make the same amount as if someone were making $10 a load for the same distance. Number three, ignore the acceptance rate, you don't have to accept any loads that are bullshit. Remember, you are a paid contractor, you choose what fits your bill. All that statistic does is make you think psychologically that you need to keep it high, or they will deactivate you. I have an acceptance rate of 15%, because I know what I am worth and I'm not deactivated. Number four, trip planning. You should take everything into consideration. Do you have any appointments you need to keep? Do you need to fuel up? Is this going to take you into no man's land, where you are going to have to drive unpaid to get close to a batch? This falls in line with knowing where the pickups are. I advised you to get the gas buddy app and card, that way you can pay it back in a day or two, or over the weekend, and save $0.10 a gallon, while also providing you a map of where the cheapest gas stations are. When pre-planning your trip, make sure this isn't a problem restaurant, and don't be afraid to say no to it. If you find it agreeable, make sure the place you are delivering to, if it's a restaurant, a mall, and apartment, or somewhere you haven't been before, activate satellite on Google Maps, and look at it in a bird's eye view to see where it is located, that way you know where to park and how to get to the customer faster. Number five, this is your business, whether you're doing it as a side hustle job or full-time, you need to track down your miles, need to write off your fuel, your phone payment, your internet, keep any receipts pertaining to doordash, even meal breaks are paid for, so you can write those off if they are required in your job. Also, your car payment can also be used as a write off as well too.

@richardvargus74434 жыл бұрын
@erik bray no.....no not at all. You will be expected to pay all the taxes your employer usually pays. This includes 15% social security taxes and about 20% income tax. Tracking your miles will allow you to deduct this business expense from your income, which is not taxed at all as a 1099. You may also deduct oil changes, tires, and additional expenses related to your business income. This must be all tracked and recorded. Most people are very bad about recording this information especially since January's receipts are not needed until the following year. In this way the government has the upper hand and takes advantage of workers like yourself. Because you dont understand. Because you are focused on the money you are MAKING you become distracted and forget to focus on how much you get to KEEP.

Man if you work it right DD is awesome, well over $2000 a month which for us covers every bill almost twice, (closer to full than not.) Gas and car work is a tax write off as well as miles, phone bill, new phone, internet costs, etc. Know your ins and outs. Being a cab driver for 5 years helped too though. It's been a God send during this pandemic crap, these fires are getting pretty rough though. We don't work everyday, we work on average 25 hours a week and sometimes not at all, a lot of the time just my husband will go, we have kids and it is flexible enough to take time to just be a family. This has been the "American Dream" for us. We are in a prime area not a huge town and it isn't too small, a major college and 8 miles away from another major college. Seriously grateful, even on the crappy $3 deliveries, it adds up. Save declines for major distances for little pay and it wont mess with your stats.

My husband and I became dashers. Our first day was yesterday. He enjoys driving so he drives and I navigate. Also we are both foodies so we like to see what people order and discuss lol. Our first order ever was from our favorite Ramen place so we were excited about that (also loved that they tipped 15dls) second day was a bit slower but still decent. We both have full time jobs but are doing it for some extra money. Im loving it so far because its something we get to do together ❤️ Thank you for all these tips! Very useful and good to know.

Hey, just wanted to give a thx for your videos. Did my 1st dash today, made 85.00 in 4 hours. Not bad I think for my 1st time out, a few places (especially Sonic) really held me up for 20 mins. Best part about being a doordasher especially for multiple years! The doordash crew absolutely respect you because you were there in the beginning of the business. You're basically grandfathered into any perks or benefits that doordash is beginning to offer since it's becoming a more global company! Also I get to travel with my dog and listen to music while driving and delivering good food to good people! I quit my full-time job and made this my full-time job making more money being happier! Word of advice follow your passion! And do what it makes you happy!🎉

#2 probably really helps. I don't do door dash, but I work at a place that uses door dash to deliver, and I will absolutely skip mobile orders if we're busy with in store customers or get other things done until the driver shows up. You really should come in and let me know who you're picking up for so I can prioritize it.

@@blackflashzoom1389 I don't really know what else you want me to do about that. If there are people literally standing around, staring me down, and waiting for their food I'm going to make that first so I can get them out the door. Sometimes (especially in the mornings since I work overnight) it takes 20-minutes before a driver even shows up for an order, so I'm probably skipping it until someone shows up. I work at a different store for the same company, and now I more than likely have someone else making food with me so we just go in order, but when I used to do it by myself (or in the mornings now when the other person is gone), I'm making executive decisions for how to best manage to get all my tasks done.

I know that typically during the week, it’s less busy than the weekend. There are more orders in the morning than at night especially Tuesday-Thursday (at least in my area). So during the week I get out earlier. I usually do 2 separate dashes. One in the morning starting around 7-8 and taking a break around 12-1. Then I get out again from 4:30/5:30 - 9 or 10 maybe even 11 sometimes. It’s all about holding yourself accountable. I usually don’t stop for the day until I’ve made a MINIMUM of $100-$150

Use the big red bag if you have one. I use the big red bag even if its over 100 degrees out. It's bright red so it catches people's eyes, it has the logo on it and it instantly tells people that you're working instead of just a person looking at their phone. Generally if the store has a line that you would have had to wait in instead of a designated pickup spot the bag lets you jump it and start that delivery ASAP.

Just started dashing and he is right about Hot Spots, I do not sit around, I drive around areas that I have been busy in. I complete an order and get another one as soon as I get near the Hot Spot. Always verify the order, a made a delivery and the drink was missing, thought it was inside the sealed bag. Went back and got the drink, a short drive, and received a cash tip. I have also discovered that many restaurants are very friendly, case in point is when I arrived for a pick up and is was almost done. The owner give me free drinks, kind of helps make the day more relaxing.

Great video! Also guys, I was worried about where my activation kit was. It turns out *you have to complete your first delivery through the driver app* in order for door dash to send you your activation kit through the mail. Be sure to provide a vaild address! As oblivious as I was, I kept wondering why I wasn’t receiving a confirmation email about the activation kit. Here’s the answer. Your first delivery will not require the activation kit. So, begin dashing in a desired area and THEN go from there. I don’t know if anybody else kept scratching their heads about this...

@@andrewstevens2780 its been going pretty great. The first week I worked out the kinks of what fast food places I won't go to because slow and poor management. I dash about 20-24 hrs per week, making $600 my goal. I've hit it each week so far. I typically go at lunch from 11/11:30-2pm and then 5:30-8/8:30pm. I've tried the Sunday lunch rush and find it's not very busy because of church ot maybe more families make breakfast at home. I've been testing out the pre sesson football times and that rush is busy into the 9 pm hour. I'm not a fan of the rain, but I've made $100 in 3 hours during heavy rain during the dinner rush.. It was worth it to me! I think with the colder weather this fall and NFL games, Monday, Thursday and Sundays. I will be sure to go during and a bit before the games start. Less people will go out when its cols so I will take that to my advantage. I'm on track to make my $2,400 monthly goal.

I've only been doing it a couple weeks. Getting better as I go in terms of which orders are worth taking and which aren't. And working out which areas of my city are busy and at what time, so I can sit just outside the hotspot! I'm enjoying the flexibility, Just gotta make sure you're in a the right area otherwise you could be sitting there with no orders for ages! But at other times, you're constantly getting bombarded with orders! Very much a case of time and place. Decent side money if you're doing it right and not burning too much fuel.

I’m about 2 years behind watching this video in 2022 haha but I just started dashing this week and I can see what you mean about the addiction piece of it! It’s also funny about the hotspots, because ironically for me, the hotspot is a godsend. My apartment is actually in a hotspot and it includes a high end mall with a Cheesecake Factory, Maggianos, Sullivan’s Steakhouse, chipotle just to name a few. There’s easily 20 restaurants within a couple blocks from my place. So I’ve been starting my dash in my apartment and then going to the restaurant from there. Im one lucky gal. AND if I drive 5 minutes in the other direction, there’s ANOTHER mall with probably 30-40 restaurants surrounding it. I’ve been incredibly successful so far and just wanna keep earning that cash.
