I like the use of the 30 MA to determine the trend. Can the 30 MA alone be used for a trading strategy?

Any moving average can be used as long as the trader understands the time frame aspect. For example, a 30 MA on the daily chart will be much different than a 30 on a hourly chart. You can see a down trend on the hourly inside an up trend on the daily. Looking for strong moves in the direction the 30 is trending followed by a consolidation of sorts and then a resumption of the trend, can be viable.

It really depends on your goals and the use of the moving average. 1 - whatever period that suits your needs is fine. Certainly nothing magical about any of them.

Thank you! Could you show some more examples of slope of 30 SMA and two lower highs go short, and two higher lows go long.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the slope. We just prefer it not to be flat. It's as simple as: 1. are there 2 lows completely above the average? (up trend) 2. If yes, wait until the highest high of that two candle sequence is broken. 3. If no, the previous trend is in force.

It depends on what you are trading and your preference for trading. I prefer daily charts
