Charlie, What amazing burl, the details are just beautiful. Using transparent epoxy most have been a given for this art piece. We agrre, styles and colours will change in popularity I'm sure, but it's such a great way to use salvaged wood that wouldn't be able to be used for a regular wood table!

I was first introduced to epoxy (in a different form) over 40 years ago by my father-in-law. He was using a product from Devcon called Plastic Steel. [Not sure how long he had been using it.] Both parts were more the consistency of putty rather than liquid, but what made it harden and become quite durable was the epoxy. The versatility of epoxy will guarantee it will be featured, whether in projects of totally epoxy or as a hybrid with wood, even as a countertop or floor covering. Been in use a bit too long to be a fad. Although the number of videos/channels featuring epoxy may diminish. BTW, Charlie is adorable.

Charlie, how do you go about cleaning the burl surface so the resin will adhere, but you don't lose the character of all the knobs, etc? I have some maple burl I want to use, but I've put off the cleaning aspect because I'm not sure if a wire wheel or nylon brush or other tool would work best.

Charlie, with cutting through the resin can you drill into the resin and make resin pegs? That might make for some interesting joints. How long did the table sit before you demolded it? Upped the game again - nice work as always - Stay safe!
