Wonderful recipes! I want to try both versions ASAP! I can’t always find frozen pizza dough, but I can find frozen bread dough. I love garlic butter, using roasted garlic mashed into the soft butter. I’d probably add a little Parmesan grated on a Microplane or lemon zester to the remaining butter before spreading it on top of the baked rolls.

I'm a big fan of Texas Roadhouse Cinnamon Butter, and I like to make my own version. I also discovered Maple Butter on Pinterest a few years ago and I love making that as well.

Absolutely, I make similar rolls all the time and plan to do so for Thanksgiving. Just before the final rise, cover with plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator for a day or two. Take them out about an hour before you bake, then proceed as usual. You should be able to freeze them too, but I've never done that personally.

If freezing, you'd want to thaw in the fridge overnight, then let proof from the fridge, as you mentioned. @@toryevanss4512

No. They are two different things. Dehydrated potato flakes are just the stuff you make instant mashed potatoes with, so you could us fresh mash if there is really no way for you to get them.

Tried the pizza dough version and they are delicious, but definitely not the texture you get from the typical dinner roll. A great way to go if you need to devote your limited prep time to a different dish, but there's still a place for a fluffy dinner roll.
