How did Producer Jack Douglas hear this and not suggest John record this for DOUBLE FANTASY album - If Paul, George and Ringo had heard this I think the Threetles would have recorded it

Disturbing song. Yoko wrote a song about getting hit. Sean said he lost hearing in one of his ears after John screamed at him to properly cut his steak-he then immediately apologized. In an interview John commented how Sean was so sensitive and he had to be careful. I think he did slay his demons before he departed. I believe in redemption.

He used to mock McCartney for his homespun granny music, so what is this?

Also, there's a violent undercurrent to this that you wouldn't necessarily encounter in (the majority of) McCartney's lyrics--at least as I interpret it. Hyde was there, and Hyde was destructive, but we're told we can relax because Hyde's (temporarily) gone. We may even presume, to add to the tension, that Jekyll is the one telling us this.

It's on the 4-CD John Lennon Anthology from '98, maybe the best solo box set released. Yoko hit a grand slam putting that one together.

Это набросок не для "сольного альбома экс-битла Леннона," (ни на одном его альбоме невозможно такую песню представить!), это набросок для гипотетического "нового альбома БИТЛЗ"! 🤫

Cool, never ever ever heard this or even heard OF this before?! That little piano bit at the end of the chorus is charming, and I’m fairly certain I can hear caged birds chirping right near the end. Lennon’s pets sound better than today’s “artists”
