This was an awesome video! I live here in Marianna and try to fish the Apalachicola for flats. I really like the format of explaining a point then, breaking to live footage to demonstrate the bait fish? Excellentt! I would love to see more instructonal vids following the same format. 1. I seen in another video you use 150 lb braid and 80 lb leader. Can you share what kind of braid that is? Im looking for braid i can see with a blacklight. Thanks for the videos, very good content👍

I just always have issues getting big fish out of logs fishing heavy structure like that.

I fish in it and try my best to get them out fast. I typically don’t let them take the rod down. First bump I get to the rod and l set the hook

Do you always rig with a no role egg sinker vs a sinker slide?

Most of the time yes. My anchor rig is a no role on the main line! It’s less to get hung up and broke. Tends to help me stay tighter in the structure. I use a 3 way swivel and a duo snap for my dragging rig and will convert that to an anchor rig while bluecat fishing but I typically always run a straight Carolina rig for flatheads with a no role on the main line.

Alive 90% of the time. I do like cut bait in the spring

Do you drop baits in the middle of the structure if so how do you get them out or are you dropping baits to the edges of it?

I fish all in it and around it! I lose a lot of fish to it but I catch a lot more fishing in it

@@SizeMattersFishing ok. Appreciate it. I fished the Mississippi River in Helena a few weeks ago and alot of bites but they just where all Twisted around longs as soon as I got to the rods but I’m fishing from the bank so I’m not really able to pull them straight up out of it.

@@rickeymurray3670 the Mississippi is tough to me for flatheads. I’ve struggled to crack the code completely over there. I love Helena though!

@@SizeMattersFishing yes sir. Big blues run the roost around there. I live an hour north of Helena but the fishing is epic when you can find them. I fish the st Francis mostly and if you can find brush your on em in that river but rock bars or sand bars are mainly blues and channels. Still learning the Mississippi myself
