I was having a great time with the game, up until these god awful mastery challenges. People warping through walls, poison damaging enemies but not killing them, even with full poison upgrades in the skill tree, arrows not one shorting enemies that should be instantly killed, explosive jars not killing enemies, explosive jars not spawning, and even more. This is honest to god one of the most poorly optimized games I have played. Some of these challenges are actually unplayable if you’re trying to get gold. I have spent honestly 3 full days, and I have still not completed all of them. I have spent over 15 hours on the godforsaken level in this video alone, and yet I still can’t beat it. Poisoned guards don’t spread the poison, and they refuse to die, rendering it unbearable as I need to kill them with poison to meet the requirement and there are no mushrooms in the level. Absolute garbage.

Really helpful guides, I think they buffed the guards detection in an update because as soon as the guard was furthest away and I tried putting the body in a haybale he turned around so quickly

followed a couple of your guides for the last few challenges I had left from when I last played the game a couple of years ago and i have to say you definitely know what your doing and your guides were indeed helpful up until I did a couple of challenges were either something was patched or something else as a couple of times things that apparently happened to you regularly didn't happen once for me like the first guard you poisoned in this video infecting another that didn't happen and in trial of the wolf challenge with the 3rd oil jar double kill but other then that your guides were very helpful like I said so please keep up the good work

Seems initially a lot easier than the other Raven challenge, but I revise my initial impression. A 10% chance of failure over 14 assassinations leads to a very likely failure rate. All are easy but none are guaranteed. It’s even worse than that sometimes when you need 19 kills by assassination or poison there are only 17 or 18 guards. The 6th furthest guard from the start likes to walk out of bounds and I have to poison him before he does. This game is a buggy mess. 5:33 is the guard that caught me dozens of times. Your method of sneaking behind works.

oh wow I didn't notice the guard walking out of bounds! agree Linus the more enemies the higher probability one will detect Eivor or do something to disrupt the challenge (like go out of bounds or fall to their death)

Sometimes the chain assassination doesn't count. Best thing to do is wait a second before hitting RB to get the kill registered otherwise great video. This helped me finish this one. Thank you

The controls in this game are horrible. Also "4 Guards with one Poison Arrow" at 7:08 never ever works for me. Enemies get stuck inside walls or somehow run outside of the area so I can't reach them. Sometimes I hate Ubisoft so much.

I did this waaaaaaay differently XD. your way was a more walkthrough friendly version. mine was just messy and random. I poisoned anyone I thought would be tricky to assassinate and jut killed all the guards along the way.

True, since I'm making a walkthrough, I tried to find a repeatable path but sometimes it is easier to be "messy" especially in this trial where the guards seem more random. Whatever works! "Everything it permitted"

Not sure if they changed it since you did it, but on the 2nd chain assassination, the 3rd guard will ALWAYS spot you when trying to move the body. You should update the video or put a disclaimer that this doesn't work anymore.

A few run throughs, I would be short one guard. The first three guards I would assassinate, then poison the other three, assassinate the one on the tower and the one on the ground. Drop assainate on one guard and poison the other. The other one on the wall came down to investigate and was poisoned. After I poisoned five, I assassinated the rest and got gold. A lit easier this way.

It took me several tries to complete this one but I got it completed. I can get a total of 10 assassination kills outside the fort. 6 at the start of the challenge, 1 up on the ledge, 1 at the bottom by the water, and the 2 before the further right entrance of the fort. After you chain assassinate the second guard on the left at the beginning of the stage, wait for the guard up the way to detect the body and then assassinate him. Instead of 5 kills at the beginning you'll have 6. I noticed every time I would retry the guards don't move the same way and its different each time you try to complete this.

the faster way to do the same is to assassinate the first guard 0:45 you can see the next 2 guards walking towards each other in background, shoot poison arrow at their feet, if you have the miasma skill tree and upgraded poison arrow which explodes 2, 2 more guards are lured there and die to the same arrow. A key to these gold medal challenges is just patience. its annoying that you have to wait around for 3 minutes on a zipline at times doing nothing...

Quite helpful but I did have to alter and adapt allot as my guards seemed to be allot more aware and notice me more often when doing the exact same maneuvers as yourself so I had to adapt but the rough rout and preview of their pathing was helpfull

You are definitely doing on another difficulty. Chain assassination with the axe pretty much alerts every guard in a 100m range in harder difficulties.

Another excellent guide thank you so much.. other players be warned after youve done your first lot of posion kills and then vertical scale the wall to the top I DID have an enemy to contend with guarding the chest (not the one with the key). Due to this I slighty changed how I proceeded from this point. Still manged ro get the gold medal posion killing the secondary guard with key last with 2 posion arrows.

A small update, maybe it was only my problem, but right after the fortress entrance there were also two archers. They didn't move so I couldn't just do air assassination to the guard going around the hay so the solution I discovered is to pass all of them from the most left side along the fence. Archers started noticing me but it was not enough to fail

Near the last guard you took out, I had 3 guards outside the fence. I couldn't touch them, and they didn't move for anything. It was screwing with me so bad. Anyway, I saw this video, realized that was the only thing different and ignored them for successful completion.

Mine was different. The courtyard had two additional guards standing there so i couldn't air assassinate the lone guard from the wall. I ended up poisoning all three of them instead. Also the rest of the area had two guards out of bounds, and two guards near the chest and 3 or 4 more roaming around. Seems they added more guards than in your video in the fort which made it getting kills easier.

Love these videos! They’ve helped me get gold on some. Others, like the comments, the last guard ends up stuck between a fence and I can’t get to him. An oil jar suddenly isn’t there. Like it’s rigged or something.

I used another strategy from a different video but I noticed that Poison doesn't kill the guards unless I headshot them or at least hit them anywhere. If they simply run into the poison trap after I place it down they'll survive with a sliver of health left, which means I need to shoot near them without actually hitting them or it won't count as a poison kill... I wonder if the damage scales incorrectly because I'm playing on Nightmare or something. These issues aside, I feel like your route is a bit better. I used my poison traps on the guards outside the fort, but it wasn't very practical, as the guard on top of the ladders towards the right will fall off and die if you shoot him from a bad angle. Not to mention they can easily track you from outside unless you run back where you spawn.

Very sweet Amber. Yet another assassination job exceedingly well done. Like all the other Raven missions this one was undertaken, taking my time in a slow stealthy fashion as is my want as an assassin (first, last and always!). You started in exactly the same way as I did, taking out the guard on the wall first, after that our methods of approach were completely different. In passing I managed to obtain the last required bronze medal yesterday afternoon at Calleva Outpost. After a meal break I reported back to Hildiran in the settlement last night. The ending that followed was something of an anti-climax. I for one just hope that there will be more of this particular storyline to follow.

@@amber-gaming The first guard I poisoned was the individual on the ground the other side of the watchtower once he was side on to me and about to walk away. I then climbed the ladder of the watchtower to just below the level of the guard above. With his back to me I assassinated him. I then dropped down to ground level and went back to hide in the grass near the wall. I waited for the guard near the wall that you air assassinated from the wall to meet up with the guard that you threw a throwing axe at. I put a poison arrow into the former guard which in turn poisoned his pal, not to mention the other guard further along, who decided to investigate and was also poisoned for his trouble. After assassinating the final 2 guards out front, I ledge assassinated the guard on the battlement. The individual in the courtyard was air assassinated in exactly the same place you took him out. I used the final poison arrow on the guard at the far end on the walkway, once he started walking and was looking away. At that time I had hunkered down with my back to the main doors leading into the fort and protected by the wall jutting out on my left.

I was detected when I shot the first guy. Maybe I need to shoot his weak point to avoid detection? Or was I just unlucky. Also be sure if you have to shoot an extra arrow make sure the guard doesn't die from fall damage. I think I will eventually get it. Thanks for the guide Amber!

There’s about a 50% chance at all times to randomly get detected. You might not even actually alert the guards but you’ll still get detected for some bs reason

Hmmm from 2020 Doom Eternal really hooked me, Ghost of Tsushima was also super standout. 2021 ive mostly been playing alot of multiplayer games with the homies, OW, RoR2, and Remnant from the Ashes. So far game releases this year havent grabbed me by the lapels. Outriders was very meh, and Biomutant i wanted to adore but the issues and repeated content beats really killed the fire. Mostly i have my eyes on indie multiplayer titles. Anything on the horizon you think i should look out for? Are you planning on covering anything up and coming?

when you make right to the end first try, fail, than proceed t not even get 1/4 the way for an hour edit: (2 hours later) this game is so F***** BROKEN STILL, either I'll somehow be detected by someone on the other side of the map though 50 walls, decteted by someone with an axe already though their skull, assassinations won't actually count providing 0 points, not even the buggy chain assassinations but regular sneak up behind and stab ones, enemies actual teleport across that map to either me or random body in bush Ive completed this 5 times which should have rewarded gold, but the games just decided yeah nah Edit 2: F*** this, literally as soon as I restart every enemy, EVERY ENEMY, just ran to attack me before I had even moved, including the final guys in the fort THAN I RESTART AGAIN and every enemy runs out of bounds, though the map barriers, and swims away into the distance where I couldn't kill

You should play the final update version they took way few npcs and the boosted the math for the points you'll there is no way you can get a gold medal with those number with so low npcs "trail of the wolf"

This is the last one I need gold on and it's so buggy. My first run had two extra guys standing in the courtyard. So I tried poison on them but got spotted. Second run and those two guys where there, but already dead, so the guy in the courtyard was on high alert the entire time. I also got enemies randomly spawn in outside of the walls. So frustrating!

Uhh it’s just not working for me sadly, there is a guard near the start of the run, after you kill guard 5, that seems to see you 50% of the time even though his position is consistent, seems very RNG. I once managed to get to the tower and fire the arrow, only for the guy to immediately turn round and spot me😢
