Fantastic job Maverick! 🙂👍 The finished product looks great! You hit the nail on the head, it's all a matter of *trial and error.* Glad you could get the lift installed and back on the road. Take care, be safe and happy wrenching 🔧🔩

@1983CAАй бұрын
good job! , some precisions about the rear drive line angles , when you don't have a double cardant 4 degree difference is the max you should have because with single joints the drive shaft speed change every 90 deg of turn , with makes it accelerate and slow down twice at each turn , causing road vibrations , having the joints angles close will allow them to cancel each other out , and you want your pinion either even or pointing 2 to 4 degrees down because when you drive the axel wrap will rotate your pinion up 1-2 degree .. the way you have it set up would be what you want when you have a double cardan up front that cancel up the angles ( AND SPEED CHANGES) so your pinion side joint can be straight up without causing vibrations

Great video, thank you sir. Been looking for this. I have a '94 sport 5-speed ruby red metallic. It needs paint,sides are nice,but hood and roof are oxidized. 4" lift is exactly what I want. I want to use Fox shocks for that Raptor look,but they don't make them for '94. Maybe I can measure some from another kit that will fit. Maybe Duff kit. More probably Rough Country. Ok let me finish watching video to see what you went with.
@mavsfabshop Жыл бұрын
Duff is going to be your best kit. As far as shocks, I went with Skyjacker hydro 2000s iirc
@carlcalvin1479 Жыл бұрын
@@mavsfabshop thanks that's the setup I'll use. Duff and skyjackers. Is it skyjackers also in the rear? I also loved your video cleaning your rust off underneath. One of these days I will jack it up and clean underneath and undercoat. I love my explorer. The sheet metal is so heavy duty. Reminds me of my brothers '72 scout. Except his truck has a big 392 V8. @mavsfabshop Жыл бұрын
You should be able to get a standard 4" front lift from a ranger for the front of your sport track, and for the rear end, you'd do the exact same as I did in the rear end to get the lift
