4-Link Dirt Late Model Birdcage Bearings USED UP!!!!

Maintenance, servicing, and replacing damaged components is a routine chore that must be done after every race event. Consistency comes from reliability and in order to finish first one must first finish. It is easy to overlook damaged components and binds in moving parts. One thing that is commonly overlooked are the bird cages that connect the rear end to 4 bars and shocks. The bearings are thin and only rotate 30 degrees so they ware in one spot unless "spun" occasionally to rotate bearings and disperse grease. I use 20,000.O0 bearings on the rear axle of my kart. Duplex ball bearings from a jet engine. Like you said, centrifugal and thrust load on bearings is important. I went from mid pack to the front.

Would you recommend putting a grease fitting in the middle to shoot grease in the of the bearings to keep water and debris out and if not why just curious thanks

Sealed bearings that thing can hold a fitting. Old school bird cages had bushings that needed to be greased. These bearing cages need to be spin as I recommend and replaced if wore.
