A hack for full cook rice. Cook your rice like you normally would, spread out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze. Once frozen, put on your dehydrator and dehydrate fully. You've just make minute rice. 😁 I pack my rice either in mason jars with O2 absorbers, or in vacuum seal bags. I've done this multiple times and it turns out great rehydrated. Sometimes if I'm in a hurry I skip the freezing step (but it does remove a little more of the water content inside the rice if you freeze it first). Thanks for these recipes!

You can cook and dehydrate pasta to reduce cooking time. We do a similar thing with instant noodles. All good stuff, even if it's hot food in a power cut using a reliable vacuum flask. Rehydration can take a little longer as the water isn't boiling but still tasty and warming.

Lovely assortment of meals, thanks! I dont make use of my dehydrators nearly enough. Feeling kind of inspired now. It's not for everyone, but I happen to like TVP. I use it on occasion to stretch anything I make with ground meat. Sometimes I add in beans or lentils, but the TVP crumbles are a near match to texture of ground meat. Takes on any flavor. And as you said, anyone can swap in dehydrated meat instead.

Many Thxs Kris, for this video and all that you do! As for me, the simpler the better! Instead of TVP/soy I prefer using canned tuna, salmon or sardines. I stay away from GMO foods with ingredients that are not organic. I like the idea of dehydrating on a pizza pan in the oven!😊👍🏻 I can not believe you use a microwave. Years ago I got rid of mine for health reasons, but each to their own cup of poison. 😮 At any rate, I will probably end up eating a lot of cooked or dry oatmeal, portalaca, dandelion and sprouted seeds, tree leaves, weeds, barley & etc. Blessings 🙏🏽

Absolutely a great video! I'm loving the direction you're going with some of this direct step by step DIY things. If you're open to it, I would be very interested in some how to on preparing fish or small game. I'm not sure what the rules are on KZbin, but it is a skill I never really had to work on. Perhaps not as healthy as what you showed in this vid (which are all great), but the Knorr brand rice or pasta sides are staples of long distance hikers (the masters of "boil only" cooking). Canned or foil pack meat (chicken or tuna) are great additions to these, to bump up the protein content.
