Trump said that the government does know what is going on with the drones. Don’t know why they won’t tell us. Thank You for all the information. It does help. I would love to get a generator like the Jackery 5000. It’s look nice as well. Have a great week. Merry Christmas. 🙏🐾

House batteries: A bit over two years ago, we changed addresses. Sold our house, sold my in-laws' house, bought a house for the four of us. The current house had zero tree cover, so was a far better site for solar power than our prior house. As we discussed a solar panel installation, we had initially opted out of getting power storage. Shortly before our system was to be installed, our local electricity provider threatened a "rolling brown-out" due to high use patterns after a winter storm. With elders in the house, we decided we couldn't chance it. Our main service is 200 Amps. The "storage" panel will support about sixty amps, assuming that there is enough sunlight to recharge the batteries during the day. Without the batteries, local codes kept our solar panel system from powering our house during daylight hours (which I think is pretty crappy, but...). Of course, there was another storm during the installation period, and our electrical grid was down for a weekend. The system came online a few days after the grid was back up, and we haven't had a grid failure since. Something-something "Murphy's Law" grumble grumble...

I've sometimes wondered if it could all happen overnight while I'm sleeping or during a nap. Even if there is no visible damage were you are at, imagine waking up without Internet (and possibly without electricity!) and suddenly realizing the grocery stores are near empty and can no longer be restocked nearly as easily. I also sometimes wondered what a "cyber 9/11" might be like...where bad guys somehow can shut down the whole internet (at least in the US) for a significant length of time.

I appreciate your covering the drone issue. You made an interesting point (my interpretation anyway) that the initial drone sightings could have had a different origin than the more recent ones.

I invested in a 2000 watt generator that came with an 800 watt solar panel. I plugged in my freezer and small electric, 800 watt , electric stove. Now once the freezer hit its temp, the motor on the freezer stopped slowing down the use of wattage. Meanwhile the electric stove continued to use 800 watts. Now lets say ive used up most the power in my generator. How long would it take for a 800 watt solar panel to recharge a 2000 watt generator? 🤔 should I invest in more solar panel?

I just want to remind people that the elites got rich off our backs! Stop buying their garage and if enough of us do that, it will impact their bottom lines and bring them to the negotiating table. We have to realize that together we have massive power to swing the pendulum away from the top and down to middle.

Why can we start producing all these things at home? If we luck of some commodity, like a lumber, then can we start building houses out of bricks, or even from a clay, very ecological btw.

I think the drone issue needs to be seperated into the ones which have been reported over civilian areas and ones at military installations. Those are not being kept secret, neither is our military or law enforcement ignorant of them or doing nothing. There has been reporting on these going back at least as far as 2019. Then there are the drone reports in civilian areas recently. Many of which are civilian aircraft, stars and planets. I am much more concerned about the rhetoric i have heard in reaction to these sightings. People in government, media and other partisans sympathetic to tyranny have used this as an opportunity to sow cynicism, insecurity, anxiety and encourage violation of civil liberties. This is not to say that drones are not a serious security threat into the future. We can see from the russia/ ukraine war that it would be easy for a competent terrorist, either domestic or foreign, to diy weaponize one with serious consequence.

Some shortages will be mitigated by recycling which will once again become profitable because of tariffs. Currently, tire recycling is practicable only in low wage countries. Inevitably ,advances in tech have already tooled us in this direction. Fewer low wage jobs will stimulate educational demand as AI removes 'make-work'. As lumber becomes impractical as a 'rough' building material is replaced by concrete. That's normal. Sand becomes scarce. Replacement materials like recycled glass, plastics, come to mind. Travelers observe entire cities almost uninhabited, infrastructure in tacked.Yet, housing for young almost unattainable. Tariffs will indeed raise cost of production.... NEAR TERM.

One more thing, when a government has shut down in the past it did not stop payments to beneficiaries of any kind. So they only affects it would have on someone receiving Social Security for example would be that they cannot update their bank account or address until it's over. They would still receive their money every single month. So they only disruption to them is that they cannot change their information unless they go online. So it doesn't really affect the beneficiaries either.

As a retired government employee, I went through two government shuts downs. The first one I did not have enough money I was considered essential, so I had to show up to work. I was about to run out of gas to even get to work when they decided on a budget. Had it gone on for any longer I would not have been able to go to work even though it was mandated that I go. Secondly, unless you have read for yourself what is in it, I don't think we can decide what was or was not in it. The continuing resolution some people say it had this in it or had that in it unless you read it for yourself you can't make those claims. From what I understand they did have an increase in pay in there. But again I did not read it either so unless you read it I wouldn't make claims like that.

I worry about poorly considered "America First" political moves, such as tariffs on imported goods, that drive up the cost of everything. I have been adding more #10 cans of freeze-dried tropical fruits (mango slices, pineapple spears, sliced bananas) and freeze-dried beef, chicken and pork to my long-term food storage. Just ordered another 132 discounted k-cups in my favorite pumpkin spice flavor at about 28 cents apiece. Probably going to buy another 5 lbs. granulated real cane sugar today to add to my sugar stash. Even if food prices only go up by the usual 5-10% annually, I will have locked in the prices at the time of purchase and, in theory, could eat the sugar and the freeze-dried foods 20 years from now. Imagine how much those foods will cost me 20 years from now, assuming I live that long.

Here in Northern CA electricity is very costly. An integrated system like this is certainly a good idea. But the local gov. gets so involved with their permits, fees and house value taxes increases that it is prohibitive to do. We need help.

The scare tactic of a government shutdown is laughable. The government has shut down in the past and it affected nobody. Anybody who was furloughed was given backpay when they came back to work so it was like a free vacation for them.
