with them donating to families in the same areas, are there no concerns for the potential meeting and possible mating between siblings that are unaware as to what really happened? these are mass numbers for siblings. and the bloodline will only grow when those babies grow and become parents themselves. i feel like there's cause for concern here. im in no way against sperm donations, but i do feel like that should be regulated a bit just because of the potential harm.

Giving the size of Britain I’d say your concern is very warranted. Not to mention no medical screenings are occurring here. If this man has HIV or anything else these donations could have long lasting repercussions…. I’m all for helping families procreate - but not this way. It has to he regulated

My thoughts exactly, given my son met his wife, together they carried the cystic fibrosis gene, exact copy no less, my grabddaughter has what is call double Delta F 508 mutation. The single copy of this gene us the most common form of CF but she's born with a more rare form of the double mutation. I don't find appropriate places to randomly discuss either issue in my reply, so thanks for reading, I do tend to explain more than I should, for clarity. I'd love to see one of you find a suurogate, producing a child for a loving couple who cannot conceive to follow surro mom through the process, with the child going to them in the end in this "Once upon a time" story!

I feel like it at least probably has something off, especially from a man who would literally have been paying his own money to do this, spending his time driving around to do this for women from Facebook, while lying to his own wife about it. I am not a psychiatrist, but a lot of unpleasant mental things can definitely be genetic and I'd be worried about his genes possibly making people who'd have a higher chance of doing some bad or at least sketchy things in life

honestly i see the issues, but i also see it as a gay woman who's dream since i could talk has to have children- and i'm hopeful i'll one day meet someone willing to be this donor for me. It was very hard to come out as lesbian, because in doing so i had to come to terms with the fact that i may never get to be a mother when it's all i ever wanted. It's hard knowing that because i'm a gay woman in a country that values them so little and has extremely high fertility costs i will likely never get to experience my dream- and sometimes i dream of someone being kind enough to offer me that branch. Though, the flaws still stand and before my dreams i will always put logic and if it logically is too risky i won't partake.

Best of luck to you Halie. I never realized, or thought about, how much trouble other people have conceiving and making families. Kind of makes me feel bad I had 2 kids so easily. I feel like my 2nd kiddo was a miracle. I was told I couldn't have kids anymore cause I had a bout with cancer in my 20s. And even after that I was able to have a baby. If only it was that easy for everyone. I do hope you get that family you have always wanted.
