Venom is not an MCU character. He is a Marvel character owned by Sony. The same for Maguire and Garfield. The only exception is maybe Holland. But only so far… I’m not sure what happens to him should the Sony/Disney deal expires. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Deadpool, etc were in an MCU movie! But that is only because Disney now owns Fox. That doesn’t retroactively make the Fox X-men part of the MCU. Not yet. Not unless this incursion does otherwise. But it will likely not be a retroactive retcon. For example…. Daredevil and etc. were originally meant to be part of the MCU. They retroactively retconned them so it’s fine. Another example, if the new Blade movie is a continuation of the last three Blade movies, then that would also be a retroactive retcon. But Fox X-Men will NEVER be part of the MCU. Not even if they use the same cast, it won’t be the same continuity. Not that Fox X-Men had much in the way of continuity. This version of Venom, no matter how beloved, is not nor ever will be an MCU character. Even if Tom Hardy is cast as this character in a multiverse crossover, still not an MCU character. If they cast Tom Hardy as an MCU version of Venom… it would still NOT be this exact same character. Venom is not an MCU character.
