Yesss i love extreme protective styling. It has honestly gotten me shoulder length with in 5 months getting a chin length bob. Currently going into month two with my mini twist 🤗

You have motivated me to do a 3month or even6month challenge of mini braids; for length retention. I see you retained a good amount, though tgere was no footage of shedding or breakage. I love these braids out, the wash....i would like to see more challenges done with your beautiful hajr tresses. 💥👍🏽❤❤

Oh wow, your hair grew so much! This is awesome! I wish I could get away with all of that protective styling on my fine natural hair.
@okiahdior2 жыл бұрын
The more you protective style the thicker your hair gets as far as density it happened for my sister she had fine hair until she started wearing braids for a longer period of time and it grows in thicker now
@tammyehim18272 жыл бұрын
fellow fine natural hair sis over and i must say protective styling 100000% helped my hair with density (my hair is genetically thin but now i have MORE hair) and length retention. Some tricks ive learned w my hair is: A) i MUST continue washing my hair in my styles every 2 weeks or i will get breakage B) Larger sections work best C) If I leave my protective style in for less than a month, and plan on continously protective styling that length of time causes more damage than good. in other words i need to leave my styles in longer AND space out my protective styling D) I cant do the same protective style back to back. so if i do cornrows for 2 months, i need to give my hair a 2 week-1 month break then do a different protective style (box braids, twists, etc..) I hope this helps :)
@FineNaturalHairROCKS2 жыл бұрын
@@tammyehim1827 Hey Tammy, this is awesome! I protective style as well but never for 3+ months. The most I'll do is 1 month to a month and a half max. I definitely would agree that protective styling is the reason why my hair has truly been flourishing lately 😍

How do you manage to cover it for that period of time? Were you always wearing wigs to cover it up? Also can one do twist in place of the cornrows and leave it for the same time frame?
@okiahdior2 жыл бұрын
Yea I wear wigs the whole time until it’s time to take them out yea you can do flat twist or regular twist I would just redo them every couple of weeks because it gets dry way faster than if it was braided and the hair has space to move around and tangle a round itself when it’s in braids it stays in one place

@okiahdior2 жыл бұрын
I don’t do them tight or sometimes I braid them separately i just do a circle braid around my perimeter and then the rest gets braided back and when I stick down my wig I pull it past my edges and remove it gently with water
