"Baby to teenager locks can be more challenging to condition. The key with baby locks is to avoid the feed and seal method (using oils to condition/seal starter Locs). Soften with aloe vera juice or conditioning herbal tea only! Rough, scratchy, dry locks can be touched up with jojoba oil from time to time if needed only. The best way to accelerate lock matting for baby locks is to make your spritz without oils and spritz frequently. Michele George I ordered this book from Amazon and it has been helpful in understanding the stages and best ways to cultivate Locs. Basically avoid frequent use of oils until your hair starts budding/locking, especially with looser textures. Creates too much lubrication/sliding at a time when you want your hair to tangle/knot up. I have 3c/4a hair and was using oils a few times a week and it would make my hair not bud, lol. So I reduced the frequency of oil use and then my hair budded and starting locking up.

I like your hair. I’m two months in trying to figure out what works for me. Oils are not working, it’s breaking me out. I think I’m going to oil a lot less. Other than that I’m loving my hair too. I should have did this years ago

I'm so glad I found your channel. We have the exact same hair type/texture. I haven't found anyone else on YT on a loc journey with my hair type so I really was on the fence. I watched your one week update video first and my jaw hit the floor and I hit the subscribe button LOL. I can't wait to loc my hair.
