Another well researched and composed film. I was at the 1999 US Open on Friday and watched the final round on TV that Sunday. One cannot image the difficulty of that course and how it was set up without being there. I played the same course, Pinehurst #2 once from a much less severe set up. I can tell you that even at 500 yards less, less rough, and no rain I was humbled like never before. The greens are unforgiving, on the approach, chipping, and putting. I stopped keeping score on #5 I believe so I could enjoy the moment.

Great comment, Dan, thanks for sharing that. What an experience it must have been to play such a course.

I was only 8 years old when Payne Stewart died but being from Springfield myself it hit our town hard. We lost our favorite son. Thankfully lots of golfers, including myself, keep his memory alive by playing the Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course here in Springfield, MO. Rest In Peace Payne. We love you and miss you.

How does this Documentary not have a Million Plus views... Idk?? Simply EXCEPTIONAL 👏👏👏 I'm a massive Tiger fan but unfortunately a pretty NEW Golf fan in general, which means learning all about Payne's tragic crash is all new to me. What a respectful and awesome way to learn of his last triumphant victory before his heartbreaking accident then in THIS incredible Documentary!! Well done friend!

"For me when I think of a U.S. Open it's this one (1999)." I've watched almost 30 U.S. Open's in my life and when I think of the U.S. Open I either think of this one or the 2008 at Torrey Pines. Something about the 1999 Open was so special and is hard to put into words. It wasn't just the course, the player's, the conditions, or the storylines. It was everything a spectator could have asked for all rolled into one tournament. Payne definitely made a mark on our generation. He did it right and will always hold a place in my head as a great competitor.

24:55 WOW! How disgusting of you to disgrace the tragic death of this man for your personal religious reasons. This was an amazing video destroyed by such a disgustingly dishonest statement of opinion. How dare you STEAL away credit from this man for changing his character HIMSELF? He did the work to change his life and you feel you can just steal away credit and give it away? SOME NERVE YOU HAVE! Who are you to make the assertion without any evidence that his character change was solely due to some religious beliefs and not his own doing? You don't have the right to steal credit away from this man for changing his life and then give it to some non-existent being that you happen to believe in. It is extremely disgusting but also intellectually dishonest / disingenuous to make such a statement. You happen to suffer from the same religious delusion as Payne Stewart so you feel comfortable asserting that this character change could only have come from his religious beliefs being "strengthened" at that time but this is a baseless assertion without evidence or fact. If he were a Muslim you definitely wouldn't think that his strengthening belief in Allah gave him better character. Do not steal his credit and give it to something you can't even prove exists. This man worked very hard to change his character and life all by himself and now that he's passed away you want to soil and taint his accomplishments and good name by stealing the credit and giving it to your fake god. You're disgusting and you're disgracing his tragic death. Give him the credit for his actions. He deserves the credit for the work he did in his life. You make it seem like he didnt do anything. You're pretending like some god magic'd him to have better character. He did the work. He deserves the credit. You're implying that he was incapable of having better character without some magical hand. Just stop.

@@c2itccase9 ya I'm sure he would love to give credit for his hard work away. I'm sure he would say that he did nothing himself because he is incapable of changing. I'm sure he would lie and pretend like it was magic instead. Get outta here clown 🤡
