Paul Azinger, you did all those on that flight so proud on this day.... What a great friend they had and have in you. 🌹

A side of 'Zinger I didn't know of. Well done Paul. An exemplary eulogy. Simple, profound, funny, deeply meaningful in plain speaking. Could not have been better. He connected completely with his audience in a way that high rhetoric can't. Speaking from his heart to their hearts. The best communication.

I still remember Payne at the Ryder Cup in Brookline, MA in September of 1999, a month before his death, conceeding Colin Montgomery's 18th hole putt because the fans had constantly heckled him. Colin's clapping at Payne's action was memorable.

I walked TPC Sawgrass in 2005 with Zinger in a pro am. His PGA tour stories and stories about Payne were hysterical. It seemed like we were laughing the whole time! He was such a great dude! And then came the Ryder Cup…

I almost qualified for US Open in 2000 & 2002. On 11/14/2012 I was ran over by a car. I suffered Traumatic Brain Injury, broken back, broken sternum, smashed pelvis. Ben Hogan would of shook my hand. Jesus Christ saved my life. I have told this to 50 people I fear no man. I was wearing a WWJD bracelet when "it" happened. I have written a letter to Paynes wife and have traded emails with his son Aaron. RIP. Payne. WWJD. Dennis F. Jordan

4 weeks before his death, Payne was part of the '99 Ryder Cup team that won, thanks to Justin Leonard's "Putt Heard 'Round the World"...it would be the ONLY Ryder Cup Tiger Woods/Phil Mickelson would win together...Rick Reilly had a great tribute to Payne in the 11/1/99 Sports Illustrated, + I have that issue! Even though we have Tiger & Phil, golf (and the USA's Ryder Cup teams) have never been the same without Payne Stewart...

The day this happened, my wife and I went by the beautiful golf museum in Florida. We had no plans to stop, but when we saw it as we approached it, we stopped. We went inside and it was so quiet there! There was a reverence there sort of like everyone knew what was going on at the moment! The plan had not crashed yet, but the writing was on the wall! I will forever remember Payne Stewart and what a great golfer he was! R.I.P. Payne!
