Mark injured his right foot hiking 4 months before he came to see Dr. Jacobs. He said his pain was often a burning sensation in his toes and after a short bike ride his pain would get up to a 10 out of 10. He also stated as soon as he stands up he feels pain in his toes. Mark had tried physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, prolotherapy, platelet-rich plasma therapy, laser therapy, but nothing had helped him. After one ASTR treatment, Mark’s overall pain level went down to a 1 out of 10 when he tested out walking around. Seriously. I see people calmly saying "yeah it's about a 7 or 8" and I'm like you must have lived a life without any pain. Anything above a 6 or 7, my brain stops working cuz it's a little preoccupied with the excruciating pain. I stop being able to walk at a 5 (most of my pain is lower back). 9 is reserved for "pretty sure I'm about to die" and I'm not sure I've ever felt 10. Most of my days vary from 1-6 throughout the day. I can't remember the last time I had a pain free day

I like the chart that has the "symptoms" on it... like a little face and a description of how it feels (like "kind of annoying, but doesn't hurt a lot" with a 😑 beside it or "hurts enough to cry" with a 😭 beside it) I broke my foot once and one of my doctor visits I was hobbling around forever trying to find the office because our system is horrible (it's a bunch of different doctors all in one building that's like 3 stories high, some of the doctors offices are actually INSIDE other doctors offices)... anyways it hurt from hobbling around and I was crying by the time I found the correct office, they didnt even ask my pain level she just pointed at the chart with the 😭 on it

Amanda Croft I’ve dealt with it seemed to be a cluster headache, and let me say, I’ve sprained my right ankle three times, and the cluster headache was worse then all of them combined. They’re said to be named suicide headaches, and I can understand why, as they were at the highest peak in pain, a 7 or maybe even a 7.75

Dr. Jacobs, will the same treatment work on someone's hands that experienced 4th and 5th metacarpal fractures? A bump did develop over time at the joint pinky side of the hand. (Not at the top of the hand) Great treatment for scar tissue pain.
