**Disclaimer** the chain cover came off as we did not do the nut up tight enough, it was our fault. There is nothing wrong with the saw. We just somehow forgot to tighten up the nut. We could have deleted this part, but we like to show our mistakes. It just proves, make sure you have tight nuts 👍🏼

I got the MS 162 over a year now, very well build saw. We use it for Tree care and small firewood jobs. Its so light weight and pretty powerful for the small size. This Fall I would get an MS 212 to replace my old but trusted 211.

I liked the representation you made of chainsaws, from my experience this type of chainsaws are very durable, with MS 181 from 2011 I had after many years a problem with the pin that holds the blade, the thread inside the housing was damaged and the pin it came out with the blade and cover, but I cut very large logs for an MS 181, 27 inch (70 cm) diameter logs

I very much doubt they will do this, otherwise that means a jump in cc from 38 to 50 with the MS271. There is a lot of ground missing in the middle. I expect they will update these with either two new saws in line with the other new ones. Or replace them with one 45cc which would still leave a gap.

Not a fan of the single bolt holding the bar on. It puts to much stress on the chain tensioner, and this resulted in a broken tensioner on my MS 251.
@em47035 ай бұрын
Not really, if its torqued down properly. Its the same as the wheel of a car: Its not being held on by the bolts, those just create the pressure. Its held by the friction created by the clamping force.
@bennorwood51815 ай бұрын
No. It pivots on the single bolt and breaks the tensioner stud. That's how it is.

They all claim to have more power than the models they're replacing. They don't perform like they do. These are a huge step back in performance and a step forward in design/appearance. Stihl dropped the ball with these saws, again. Not even suitable for a novice homeowner. Overpriced, underpowered, and very disappointing in performance. I've ran them all. Not impressed at all. The old models they replaced are much better. That's not really saying much because those older models weren't up to par either.
