Gonna be using the phrase, "It's not quite impossible" on a steady basis now. Thanks for both that gem, and the wonderful teaching. Just the way I like to learn, this.

A para diddle is a drumming rudiment of single and double strokes on a drum it would be LRLL RLRR on a bodhran it would be DUDD UDUU and so on

readyforthebattle, actually a paradiddle can start in any part of the sticking, but thanks pointing out how much of a simpleton you are. Nice to know there are still people out there who think they know everything telling a true master drummer how it's supposed to be done. Moron.

Thanks Ronan for a great lesson ( a great series actually!) And thanks readyforthebattle for that tip - for some reason I find it easier to practise it that way around. And Rusty Knorr - your first line said you disagree, and that's fine, and you may even have a point, but the rest was totally unnecessary, unwarranted and rude. Thanks.

Thanks for the great vid series, Ronan, I like your drumming at the beginning and I'd really like to get myself over to Ireland for your classes. Ah, one day. I actually found the DUUD UDDU easier than DUDD UDUU, but can't work out where the emphasis should go. Thanks again.

As a relatively new player, I'm one of those who says "that's impossible", even if you slow it down! 😳 However, I said the same thing a year ago about triplets.... So, I'm going to persevere - watch this space! Fantastic, love this video, thanks. 🙏😊

I just can't move my hand that week quick not matter how much I try

Start slow. Overdo it as well as it can work your arm muscles to develop that fast twitch effect. In time you learn to control it.

Try the vid entitled 'Playing Fast, Precise Tremolo on the Mandolin' by ModalMixture, or search for 'tremolo, mandolin'. It's actually mandolin (!) but she has a good structure using metronome that'll get you playing fast, fast. I was playing mandolin for years and then got super fast in just two days. It's a mix of power, relaxation and precision. Good luck.
