Hm, I wonder here... There's a guy Clint Busenitz in South Dakota (the Vetterman Exhaust) that builds Cubs with Cessna 152 or 172 wings. With the 172 wing in weighs 1080 lb, max gross wieght is about 2200 lb. So the payload is more than the plane's wight-1120 lb. ...what if combine this Kirk's 4-seater Cub with that Clint's "Cessna-wing-on-a-Cub" idea?😛

An aft cg...within the limit...will give you a slower stall speed and a higher cruise speed. If you want to see better...and this is the truth...get a seat cushion. This will raise your head higher which will also force you to bring your seat forward...which gives you a better view on approach and landing. Give it a try.

What about the Murphy Moose and Bearhawk?
@nzkiwi94 жыл бұрын
Moose won't takeoff or land as short as this cub but I do know guys are able to get off the ground at sea level, 360hp M14P, & 3500lbs gross, using around 600ft of strip. I find that very impressive. But the M14P has less dynamic landing gear, and does cost more in fuel, and oil. The bearhawk can fly faster in cruise than most M14P equipped moose & all cubs. It can fly slower than the moose & is comparable to the cub. Arguably a better wing design than the cub. This cub has better flaps than both bearhawk & moose. Unfortunately, the moose & bearhawk can not be used in a business capacity. On a personal level, I find the 4 seat cub & bearhawk fascinating aircraft, but the Moose is my dream build.

Did I hear you correctly?????? At 11:25 in the video you said "you have 700 something pounds of useful load". WHAT?!!! This is a FOUR place. Four 200 pound men is 800lbs!!! No fuel, NO baggage, no nothing! What the heck! So this is still a TWO place aircraft! Two people at 400lbs then you can put in 50 gallons of fuel and you are about to be over weight if you put on headsets and bring a water bottle. What if your one friend who wants to go with you is 250lbs? Less fuel? In Alaska you need that fuel to get to the remote areas. Alaska is three times the size of Texas and there isn't as many airports with fuel as Texas. So this aircraft is basically a single person plane that can carry enough fuel to get you there and back and have still 100lbs of cargo. Better to buy a Murphy Moose! Cheaper too!

I hate to say it....a super cub is just not. A plane for 4 place configured like that...that cock It and controls are boxed out....everything is forced and put as an afterthought...just like an 1980s humvee...nothings ergonomic. Nobody is comfortable goin cross country... get a Cessna if that’s your intent.... a S cub needs to hug your elbows and the controls just don’t fit centered in the air away from the convenience of the workings hidden in the outer frame... leave them at 900 pounds in,t opinion..but I definetly appreciatie the workmanship and craft that this guy did...a true fabricator.

How dose it compair to the bearhawk 4 place?
@whosaidyoucandance4 жыл бұрын
This 4-pl Cub is slower than a regular Cub apparently, whereas a Bearhawk 4 place is roughly as fast as a Cessna 180. Similar takeoff roll between the 4-pl Cub and Bearhawk 4 place. The 4-place Cub is going to land shorter every time, because the Bearhawk is slightly heavier. The Bearhawk has considerably more useful load. Internal space looked similar, as was the pilot's controls configuration.
@RussellTelker4 жыл бұрын
@@whosaidyoucandance That's kinda how I saw it too. Though I haven't heard them comment on cruise speed for the 4 place Cub, I doubt it's anywhere near the Bearhawk, but that's not it's mission. Sounds like this goes basically anywhere an -18 will go and carry two extra people there. But realistically, the Bearhawk will too except maybe the really tight/short strips where the extra weight keeps it moving that little bit longer... I'm looking forward to seeing how the Bearhawk responds to the Keller flaps, apparently there's a guy in the southwest that's testing a set on his A model.
