Resonance is when you can hear the sound all around you, a sound that you can hear in the entire room, almost like it's coming from every direction. At first a very good resonant sound looks like a forte dynamic, but it's really not that because we can change the dinamics and play also a rich piano note that is soft, but at the same time fills the entire room.

Alexa Still is absolutely fascinating with her plastic bag demonstration. Would never have guessed she would fill that bag so easily from that distance. Caught me totally by surprise. Good stuff. Thanx.

Extraordinary. So friendly and knowledgeable. Novel in certain ways and all time necessary. Thank you all for giving to the world of flautists or flutists. We all need the encouragement to enjoy.

It's great to listen and watch this information from flute gurus! It brings back memories from lessons and master classes from days gone by. On the protractor, I think you mean a compass, Marianne? Either way, I get what you're going after. ;)

My teacher, Maurice Sharp, was principal flute @ the Cleveland Orchestra for nearly 50 years. He called himself a « flutist. » 🎉🎉🎉

"Flautist" in British English. "Flutist" in American English. Both exist.

I agree! As a bilingual person, it’s much easier to remember “flautist” instead of “flutist”
