Even though Islamouth is a very productive beat, conditions were difficult and you really deserved those fish. I once caught 4 in 6 casts on the beat upstream...but they were all kelts!

They are special fish Springers. I had three of the Dee in one morning a few years ago, didn't think I'd beat that but I suppose you just need to be in the right place at the right time👍

Fishpal website is a great place to book rods. The Tay, Dee, Tweed or Spey are your main rivers to look out for. I've already fishing booked at the end of the month so will need to work the rest of the time unfortunately. Good luck if you manage to get out👍

Hi Ewen these are fish destined for the Ericht and traditionally are normally smaller than Tay fish but your right you certainly don't see them as large as we used too. Saying that the Tay has had three or four salmon over 30lb this year already. Thanks for watching.

Mind me asking the rod and line setup? Interested in knowing what your running line is? I usually use mono, and find the coated lines to shoot like poo. But I’m also on a 6wt 12’6” (USA spey)

Hi Rex, sorry for the late reply I've been fishing. I use full spey lines, the one I used in the boat was an old Michael Evans intermediate. My floating line is a Rio Long Head Spey line. The rod I use is an old Bruce and Walker Norway 15 feet.
